John and Karen Hall from Vancouver raced in the 60s. Not husband and wife any more, but they are on good terms.

Nissan Pulsar EXA Coupe. A horrible, dangerous little road car that was almost un-insurable for most people.

Christine drove it in her last two Bathursts, when Howard Marsden was still running the Nissan team. It was a cantankerous little thing...

And didn't Christine and Fred drive in some races in the Alfa team?

Christine in one car and Fred in the other?

From UK club racing in the 60s, John Bond-Smith married Jacquie Cook - her father Arthur Cook built and raced the Wavendon Wombat 1172 sports special. John and Jacquie Bond-Smith both raced a Lotus Cortina, Lotus Elan, ex-Alan Brown Ford Galaxie and a Lotus 23B. They divorced at the end of the 60s, then John put young driver Stan Matthews in his ex-Martin Maudling Anglia t/c. My father was their mechanic.

Annie and Claude (?) Bousquet - she certainly had a racer husband who died in an RTA shortly before she did.

Sydney and Greta Oakes, kingpins of the Nassau racing scene in the 50s. They also drove an Austin Healey in some of the big American sportscar races.

Anna Maria Peduzzi and Gianfranco Comotti - competed together once, I think.

Two of Marc Surer's wives have taken to the tracks: Jolanda and Christina.

I believe Lilian Bryner and Enzo Calderari are married, or at least in a long-term relationship.

Amanda Stretton and Bob Berridge drove at Le Mans together, among other events.

Petter Solberg and Pernilla Walfridsson were both rally drivers when they got together, although her career took an abrupt nosedive.

Garth and Leanne... and then two wives for Marc Surer...

That reminds me: Leanne's father raced in Vees (pretty sure it was in Vees), while his first wife raced in a Honda S600 with a Ford motor. That was Mark and Kym Ferrier.

Pat Moss marrying Eric Carlsson has already been mentioned, but don't forget that her regular co-driver Ann Wisdom (daughter of Tommy Wisdom) married Peter Riley who was also a rally driver.

Peter and Ann competed a few times together, too.

Chris Staniland's wife Eve drove in rallies in the mid-30s. Archie Gripper's wife (frustratingly only ever referred to as "Mrs AG Gripper") also raced and rallied in about 1932.

A little further back, Prince Ferdinand of Liechtenstein and his English wife, Shelagh, rallied against each other in Austro-Daimlers. At about the same time (1929), Ruth and Bill Urquhart-Dykes were driving their Alvis together at Brooklands and in Europe.

While I was preparing a blog on this DB Panhard I learned that the car seen here at Thompson CT 20th July 1958 in was driven as seen here by John B Mull and on other occasions by his wife Evelyn. From what I gathered they also shared the driving of an XK120, AC Ace, and Austin Healey 100S over the years.

Jerry and Lori Moerwald swapped left seats (sorry, Blokes, this was in America! ;) ) in their Bugeye Sprite in SCCA racing throughout the '70s, and I believe for many years prior to that decade as well.

Edit: On second thought, maybe it was right-hand drive....

In Kenya several husband and wife teams drove in the Safari, and several of them also raced. I could find

Mr Ian and Mrs Craigie
Jim and Lucille Cardwell
Jim and Mary Heather-Hayes

Kenya being Kenya we also had a case of driving with someone else’s wife: Peter Davies and Mrs Gerry Collinge drove together in the first Safari while Cliff Collinge drove in a competing car. A few years later Mrs Gerry Davies appears in the results!

Some couples who raced but don’t appear in my Safari books
Mr HPB and Mrs E Dakeyne
MR Derek and Mrs J Gates

Then there was Fiona Grant who was either Peter Huth’s sister who married Ian Grant or Ian’s sister who married Peter (all three raced). After all these years I can't remember which way round it was.

The following competed in the Safari but didn't race
Morris and Freda Temple-Boreham
Keith and Joy Mayers
Prem and Pauru Choda
Mr J and Mrs S Fitter
David and Jill Lead both drove in the Safari but not with each other

The Robertsons are in their third full season of running in the ALMS.

At both the Mid Ohio and Road America rounds this year, Andrea's co-driver was Melanie Snow, who has co-driven with her husband Martin Snow off and on over the years.

Betty and Ernest Stapleton did the Mille Miglia at least together once.
Piero and Isabella Taruffi won the last Targa Florio.
Marc and Nicole Angelvin rallied mainly in France, both together and in separate cars, often Simcas, in the 40s and 50s.
Gaston and Claire Descollas had the same arrangement a little earlier, often using Lancias. Claire was also part of the all-female Yacco speed trials team in 1937.
I've always assumed that Jacques and Annie Spiers who drove an MG in the early 50s were husband and wife, not brother and sister or father/daughter.

Tom Coronel and Paulien Zwart raced in the same team in the 2004 ETCC. Not sure if they were actually married at the time (or even if they are now). But they are a couple.

Same applies for brother Tim Coronel and his Gaby Uljee. Gaby races and rallies. She also navigated Tim in Dakar.
Both couples do have a children!

Yep. Lorrie usually drove a gold colored Sprite, while Jerry had a variety of cars over the years, including a Lotus Elite, the Sprite, an MG C, and Mini Coopers. They ran Louis Auto, an imported car dealership on Milwaukee's west side for many years until selling it and moving to Florida. Sadly, both are gone now.

Who are (Dinta (David) and Kate Officer) still competing in Historic rallies in Mitsubishi Galant, same type of vehicle that they won the ARC in.

And which was an Historic vehicle when it won, what a sad state of affairs Oz rallying is.

Anyway back on topic ..

Coral Taylor - Australian Rally Championship (Co-Driver) 1993, 1994, 1995 and 2008. Placed second in the 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2006 and 2007 championships, and Third in 1997. Husband Mark Taylor a regular in the ARC but not sure if they ever paired together as Coral was always Neil Bate's Co-Driver for the Toyota works team (18 years!).

Chuck and Suzie Dietrich - USA -can't remember what they drove - I believe Chuck was SCCA National champion in several classes. I remember racing against him in a D sedan Mini at Mid-Ohio in 66.

Werner and Siggy Gudzes - CDN - Werner raced a Volvo and she had a Cortina if I remember.

Yes, and Chuck was the longest holder of an SCCA Competition License for quite some time. Very fast in Formula B/Atlantic well into his 60s.

Chuck Dietrich was a two time SCCA class champion; GM in 1963, and FB in 1967. He drove well into the 1980s in a variety of cars. He started in the early 1950s, so he did hold a license for some 40 years, give or take. Don't know when he last raced so I can't give a definitive answer to the number of years that he held a license. There are many drivers around now who have exceeded that. One that comes to mind is James Place, who is still racing and who was racing in the mid 1950s. So Place has held a ticket for over 50 years.

Suzy Dietrich was a competent racer in a number of cars. She and Chuck split sometime in the 1960s, and she married John Marshall, for whom she was listed as an entrant when Marshall was racing FB in the late '60s, early '70s.

Frank and Lola Grounds, British rally drivers of the 50s - I think they both drove for Rootes at some point.

Howden Ganley and the late Judy Kondratieff, later Judy Ganley. They were both racers, but not together and I think she had retired by the time they married.

Tony and Pia Bianchi, regulars on the modern historic scene.

Frank and Judy Lyons ditto.

Frank and Delphine Bigger, rally drivers of the early 60s, and didn't Frank also race on circuits?

Ian and Pat Appleyard, rally winners together in a Jaguar XK.

Tony and Janet Brise.

Like many British club racers in the 1950s/60s/70s they both raced, but not once Lotus became a marque rather than Colin's Special.
That said there were lots of married couples who both raced in that time span, but the list of people none of us have heard of is already quite long!
I'll add a few from memory just to prove a point
Mike and Silvia Rouse (XZ Jaguars)
Jerry and Rebecca Trace (Elva Courier)
John and Mary Lindsay (Morgan +8)
Brian and Ann Shoosmith (Bentleys)
