well as they say in church, when jesus returns it will be on a 2 stroke.

its in the bible, somewhere at the back.

it also says he'll have an extra pocket on his robe for spare plugs.

It's also a little known fact that Moses rode a bike too, it was a four stroke though, something about "The roar of his Triumph..." being heard all over the promised land :p

could someone tell me if espie is using a baker or chevallier frame on this or is a standard honda steel unit.

chevallier frame sticks out in my mind as being used but i dont have any documents to find out.

Definitely a Chevallier frame. One of those used by De Radigues and Le Liard in 1984.

There was a later generation of Chevallier frame, built in 1986 for de Radigues when he decided to "come back home" to Alain Chevallier after a not-so-satisfying 1985 season on a factory Honda NS . It was built along the same lines as the 1984 frame, but different/improved in some aspects ( and of course hosted a factory NS engine instead of the customer RS of the 1984 bike )

A 500 Chevallier-Honda was campaigned in the European Championship and the occasional Grand Prix by frenchman Rachel Nicotte around 1988/89. But I couldn't say wether it was the 1986 frame, or the old 1984 frame that EspiƩ had used previously.

thanks phillipe, it must have been this frame (or a copy) that randy mamola used instead of the standard honda item at hockenheim practice in 85. i believe he only got away with this as he was in the honda britain squad and not the factory team.

memory serves me right the bike was pure white and did not have the rothmans decals on.

note on some pics on manfreds site of espie he is using an onboard camera.

Always nice livery on Mark's bikes, sponsored by Ian King of Royal Cars.

I always thought Mark was a very stylish rider, equally at home on the roads and short circuits and IMHO was greatly underrated and deserved a shot with one of the British factory teams, I believe he would have done very well.

Where's Sharon these days, not seen her on the forum for a while. :well:

Hi Guys the next issue of Classic Racer has a feature on Mark Salle if you did not know. I think it is due out this weekend or around the 16th of April. Looking forward to it.
