For those who do not already know Alan has brought out a book ' Light In The Darkness ' and what a gripping read, I read it in one 12 hour sitting !
Alan doesn't hold back and tells the true tale of his relationship with MAL his father and larger than life sponsor, brother KENNY speedway champion. The book contains many tragic events that have happened in Alan's personal life ( how much can a person take ? ) as well as many funny moments and Alan reveals his two biggest regrets (wrong decisions) taken in his racing career that probably cost him super star status and the chance to earn big bucks.
This book as earned rave reviews, is a must read for us 70's and 80's racing fans.
Alan will gladly autograph & dedicate a book for you, please support this fantastic, genuinely lovely guy, ex grand prix winner.
The book would make the perfect xmas present, if you would like one please contact me with the message that you would like Alan to write in the book, price depends where you live (postage) but is around £18 to £20. Thank You.

Just finshed reading it and thoroughly enjoyed it. It brought back a lot of memories as I was working in and around racing back then. In fact I was with Alan and Chris the night of the pool hall incident in Wisconsin. Alan's version is tamer than I remember but it surely was a great time. I thought I got to know Alan a little back then but really I had no idea. Reading the book reveals what a truly tragic life he had up to then and since. How does one guy find the strength to go through all that. Give him best regards from an old acquaintance if you can. He will remember me as the Irish guy who he introduced to work for Andy Leisner.

Mo Murray.

Alan has confirmed the book is £20 incl p&p to UK mainland.
This is a good you tube link of Alan talking about his book at Brands Hatch a month or so ago where he was competing in the ICGP series.
