Their old website design didn't bear any resemblance to their car. Other than being sub-par.

We know that... but the response I got was from HRT marketing person:-

maria_serrat: @lundo88 @hrtf1team we'll have to wait a few more days, but things are there for a reason ;)

I was thinking on team gear and trucks, that's why I said tomorrow and not on Tuesday. I don't like the logo but with those colours the car livery could be nice.

Much better than the old one, but still a bit confusing. White, yellow and gold? Hmm. Let's see that livery then.

I wouldn't mind them going back to Gun Metal grey maybe some red with some gold, something like the second half of 2010. Red and white was nice but it got tired in the end, but grey was something really different maybe they should include the chequered flag.

I think it will be mainly Gold with White/Black accents... but I could be completely wrong :p

bad joke ...

anyways narain showed where daniel stands ... good to see hrt signed narain instead of liuzzi , petrov , chandok and other less talented drivers

Nope, not a bad joke. Ricciardo had to make his second stop early due to a problem in the first stop. In the four laps prior to his second stop Ricciardo lost roughly 15 seconds to Karthikeyan, due to the problem. The second stop was slow, also due to the problem he had, taking at least 17 seconds longer than his first stop. Because the second stop was so early, Ricciardo was forced to make a third stop he otherwise wouldn't have - that final stop cost 28 seconds. Sure, Narain had a bust front wing: but that was his fault for running up the back of another car. Ricciardo's problem was no fault of his own, and cost him huge chunks of time.

Ricciardo ultimately finished ~30 seconds behind Karthikeyan. Do the addition: 28 seconds lost from the extra stop, 15 due to slow laps caused by a mechanical issue, and around 15-20 seconds extra lost during the second stop. -30 +28 +15 +15 = ...

Don't get me wrong, though: I thought Narain had a very strong weekend. As far as the second HRT seat goes, he deserves it. So do a host of others, but I'm happy enough to see Narain there. He's clearly a step above some of the woeful pay drivers we've seen in the past. But he is now, and always will be, a paydriver who won't get a seat on talent.

Ricciardo, on the other hand, has bags of talent.

Looks a good replacement. Martens has been the responsible of HRT02 chassis manufacturing at Performance so seems quite logic movement for HRT.

The exit of Eeckelaert and Jenkins makes me think that the HRT02 is completed now

A lot better than last years effort... Im guessing with the 21st Launch date with the site does that coincide with the HRT02 being launched with new Sponsors(hopefully)???

They have a new partner, Yamimoto.
"HRT will become, through this deal, a pioneer in the world of Formula 1 by integrating an alternative energy to petrol in its mobility plan and will use Yamimoto’s electric bicycles to move around at Grands Prix and away from them."

HRT can only be better than last year if they bring the car to Barcelona test. With 8 days of preseason testing (which is equivalent to 16 race weekend practice), they could at least setup the car for Melbourne. That will be a huge boost to team.
They just need a car as good as last year's to get within 107%. Once the car runs reliably in the preseason testing then the knowledgeable Pedro should be able to develop the car in season.

He means that this is the last year eleventh and twelth position will get any money from FOM. I believe the amount was $10 million for each of the new teams for their first 3 seasons after which it was assumed their infrastructure should be stable. In short if you want money finish in the top 10.

The Top 10 teams earns prize money. He seems to believe Marussia will be fighting with Caterham....

They wont. Marussia will be lucky to get close to HRT.

I think that currently the 11th and 12th teams get their transportation paid by FOM, but no price money. Next year there will be a new Concorde agreement, so there might be a change in how the money is shared between the teams. IIRC the current Concorde was signed before the three new teams joined the sport, so we only had 10 teams those days. So the "top 10 teams get price money" approach was logical. Now that we have a grid of 24 cars it's different, and unless they have no interest in making sure that we will have over 10 teams in the sport, then i'd guess that in the future the 11th and 12th (and 13th?) would get their share aswell. But that's just wishful thinking. I have no idea what's really gonna happen.

As far as I can remember its always been the top 10 teams that receive prize money and strictly speaking only the top 10 get their freight payed for. With the introduction of the new teams Bernie cut a deal with the existing outfits that they would share their TV revenues for the first three years. Thats over. I just don't see outfits who are themselves struggling for funding agreeing to that deal anymore, new Concorde agreement not withstanding.

The thing is, what purpose do HRT & Marussia serve?. Caterham are at least within sight of the lower midfield pack.

I hope they go for a white car with golden details, it could be easily the most beatiful car on the grid.

... the point is that not all of them can arrive to top ten.

Who is going to go out? HRT? Ok.. and ... STR? Sauber? Williams? ... are they (marussia & catherham) to push out of the top ten to any of them? :well: two of them? :rotfl:

I know that it's disappointing for lot of people but HRT can't get the three last places, just one of it. :smoking:

yeah that's true.

They should kick off the team that finish dead end each year, that's the way to have a highly competitive series.

Yeah because there are lots of teams queueing to enter F1  I don't get why some people are so bothered with small teams performance, they are into the 107% right? Let them be and maybe the will grow and remember they entered F1 with the promise of a budget limit, they deserve at least the time to readjust their plans.
