Even if I don't agree with them skipping the session ;)

" ... in order to focus on being ready with its new car for the second and final test there."

The fact that they failed two crash tests means that the chassis is ready and ok ... and that the nose cone was ready, too ... although not ok.
In addition the team has already worked together and got some useful data on tyres.

It's clear that it is far better than 2011.

It's better, but it's still a disaster of a team.

It's unfortunate to see, and i don't wish them to do bad or anything, but they are a poor representation for formula 1 currently. then again i think the only team coming out of the 3 new teams that has established itself as an actual 'team' is Caterham.

yep ... loads of money makes things easier. It's obvious that for HRT and virgin/marussia will take longer.

That's why F1 is the leading motorsport. It's where the Rich and powerful create machines unrivalled, HRT aren't doing that.. hence my statement...

Spanish Sources are reporting that the car has passed the final tests. One wonders why they can't make some of the first Barca test assuming that they would have built up the chassis minus roll hoop and nose.

Remember they probably have used the roll hoop for the first car in the test. So they need to build a new roll hoop first.

That sources were just rumouring. HRT has already denied.

They could, eventualy adapt the F111 nosecone (even if this is really weird and rather useless) but the roll hoop issue avoid any chance of taking the track on an official event.

Joe Saward seems to think HRT have failed a 2nd crash test of something...

I don't follow JS, but I read an statement from HRT denying that the test were attempted last week.

Narain Karthikeyan @narainracing
Team is working hard to get things in place, still have to pass the crash tests. Everyone knows final Barca test is important.

OK so Joe Saward seems to think that HRT have failed a nose test again...

Not after the second crash test failure today (Oops… a secret)

Joe, do you know what HRT failed on?

Nose again.

This is the reply I got from HRT:-

“@lundo88: @maria_serrat @hrtf1team Joe Saward seems to think the F112 has failed its nose test again :( can you confirm or not??”

“@maria_serrat: @lundo88 it's not down to me to confirm or deny but nose test hasn't been conducted yet...”

Does Joe Saward have a agenda on HRT?

It's nice to hear rumors from journos, but I get the impression anyone who hurts his darling Liuzzi he seems to take a dislike to.

Keke Rosberg was interviewed by MTV3. I translated some parts, because google translate doesn't really handle finnish that well.

Why are the tail end teams HRT and Marussia involved in F1?

- You have to start somewhere. As a new team you can not come along and be perceived to be Ferrari. In my day it was the normal way for drivers. You started from a small team and got forward, just like Alonso started at Minardi, which is now Toro Rosso. We definitely need the small teams, because the series can't just be about McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull. We need the top teams, the midfield and the small teams. Hopefully, these small teams will one day evolve into large teams.
----
- They are involved, because they wish to evolve into big and successful teams. Everyone has a dreams in their lives, and it is quite legal.

Nice website! Vitantonio Liuzzi is still mentioned as one of their drivers and Dani Clos is mentioned as their test driver.
This probably means that Liuzzi could still race during the season if Karthikeyan's sponsors are paying too late or if one of their race drivers becomes ill or injured. Or maybe Liuzzi may still race in the Italian GP, that would be nice.

It is a pretty cool website, and the clothing range looks pretty snazzy too... I mean, HRT jeans!! No F1 team has their own jeans, not even Ferrari (and they sell EVERYTHING with Ferrari on it...)!

Im just wondering if Liuzzi will be given the reserve driver tag? or will we see him disappear soon?

And check out all the team members!

Let's concentrate on the priorities, eh? Failed crash tests? Not able to test at Barcelona? No worries, look at these terrific jeans!!

I suppose there is only a finite number of times you can crash that old Dallara tub before it starts to fall apart.

Looks like a modification of the old 2010 chassis. They said the car would be completely different, but it doesn't look like it.

Not much left from old Dallara, even airbox was undercut massively

Doesn't look different to me. May be they have just put the old car and will update once the new car is ready.

Are they going to use KERS from the beginning of the season ?

No KERS, I don't think they're planning to use it at all this year from what I've read, not 100% though

I also think it's last season's car. No KERS, at least for the first part of the season, good decision IMO.

Don't think so. Tony Cuquerella has always be very reluctanct to use this system and right now he's the technical honcho.

Sidepod and nose seem different, engine cover slightly changed as well, front suspension mounts are higher.
