This replica WW1 Spad at Duxford has a connection to Sherlock Holmes. Indirectly. No prizes.

This replica is styled according to the SPAD S.XIII as flown by American ace Eddie Rickenbacker.
Rickenbacker's actual surname was Reichenbacher but he changed it because it was "too German-sounding".
Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty had their final duel at the Reichenbach Falls in Switzerland.
Is that it?

The answer is elementary dear Terence - both craft and virtuoso are highly strung!

Both Sherlock Holmes and Eddie Rickenbacker came back after being presumed dead: Holmes after the struggle with Moriarty at the Reichenbach Falls; and Rickenbacker twice - once after a crash in an Eastern Airlines DC3 and once after being adrift at sea for 24 days.
