It is great to see another competition, this time for a trip to Daytona 24 Hours. That would be a dream come true! Well done Autosport!

But I am not a UK resident, and so not eligible.

Seriously? How many years have you now been accepting subscriptions from all over the world? You can still only afford do deals for flights out of UK? That's ok, I can't afford to spend any more Aussie Dollars on Autosport either.

I used to get annoyed at that too. But then realised that Autosport doesn't pay anything and it's all sponsored. So it's the sponsor who decides who can enter. And since they are in it purely for marketing reasons they don'ty need the hassle of an overseas winner. Since these can't be publicized as such in a UK marketing campaign.

It probably has more to do with gaming and consumer laws, which vary from country to country - and in some countries like the USA from state to state.

Hi guys

Just to say - it has nothing to do with AUTOSPORT.com - we would obviously like every competition to be open to every single one of our users, as we'd compile more data as a result of increased entry levels. But competition providers often insist on certain Ts and Cs, and this is usually one of them.

Apologies to Mat - we obviously don't want people to stop using AUTOSPORT.com - but there's not a lot I can do about it in this instance.

Thanks for the thread!

Jim

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the response.

If your competition providers are providing you with certain T&C's which makes it difficult to supply prizes to residents outside of the UK, then you need to work harder at finding better competition providers. There is plenty you could do about it.

Think of all the increased data you could compile!

Regards,
Mat

The Autosport/F1 racing survey email arrived the other day, advertising the chance to win tickets to any F1 race.

As usual though, the competition is only available to UK residents. It's sad that in 2012 these things remain so restricted - I am disappointed.
