The annual Busselton 'Motorfest' in the south-west of Australia was held today. It's a fundraiser for the local football club plus a nominated cause or charity and attracts classics, muscle cars, street rods, dragsters and even stationary motors and of course stall holders. The day is organised by volunteers who provide a free hourly bus service for patrons who wish to visit the coastal township for lunch or sightseeing. Busselton boasts the southern hemisphere's longest timber-piled jetty [1.8 kilometers] and a train runs tourists to the end where an underwater observatory is located. While there is an abundance of muscle and street rods in this neck of the woods, I hope these pics will be of interest;

So many old-timers of this sort met their end as hot-rods at the speedway in the fifties and sixties.

Hi Doug. A very pleasant, relaxed day thanks. Met up with a couple of Caversham identities from the sixties too! Here are a few more pics. The E type was a beauty.

This Mistral arrived from South Africa with a Ford V8 under the bonnet. New owner and Busselton mechanical workshop proprietor, Phil Moore, has re-fitted the correct four litre, six cyl. Maserati motor. Phil also runs a speedway midget. His busy schedule includes maintaining the famous jetty train.
