Tasman Series calendar 2012

This came about after my posts on p. 129/130 of the thread "Personal Photos of Australian motor racing from the 50's to the 70's" were noticed.
I think it's a fantastic calendar - but I'm biased.
I hope this does not break the forum's rules and to be on the safe side, you will have to search for yourself to find out the details.
However, here is the front cover for your interest.

At $15 postage within Australia, more than the cost of the calendar, I'll be giving it a big miss, thanks.
Cheapskate....look at the 49 skating!! Worth the price of admission!!

As someone who's done 5 books and dozens of calendars, I know what goes into these things and agree! I might have done $19.95 + S&H, to avoid the shipping cost debate — but that's just me.Yes, there would be very little mark-up on that postage if it is being mailed flat , especially when you take in the packaging cost as well. Then your time to pack it, drive it to the post office........... In real terms he'd being lucky to break even on $15. I think the whole package at less than $30 posted is pretty terrific value actually.
My guess is this was a short press run as well, so profit can't be that high. Paper goods, especially dated ones like calendars, are riskier-by-the-year labors of love and deserve support from our tight community that they're intended for. Just breaking even is an accomplishment.
Judging by its cover, a valid preview with any photo media, this looks like a terrific calendar to me. Enjoyed each day for a year, and beyond as a keepsake.
Best of Luck... I commend you, Rod!

Thanks for your comments guys.
This calendar is something I have wanted to do for many years. Thanks to Tony Loxley it is now real.
Yes it is a limited run and if successful it will go well with future calendars and Tony's new F5000 book.
Happy Christmas and Happy New Year to all TNFers!

I trust you've already emailed/called/badgered/threatened everyone you know to buy by the ton ( ), and can offer good discounts in bulk. I sold several hundred of my then-$35 books just to people I know, mainly by offering quantity discounts and encouraging people to buy several for their circle. I know it's hard to get excited doing sales like this in a calendar scenario, for pennies/low profit per (as it's been for me for the cheaper $10-15 books I've done), but your boosting sales works really well for the publisher and brings 'em back to you. Hand-signing and personalizing my books was the real clincher in my making sales to my associates, friends, clients, clients of friends, friends of clients, gas station attendants, sandwich makers, oil changers, pets, etc., etc., etc. — or so I found out later when people expected another book they might buy.
I hope you can make this a regular, annual title. My Best to You!

Thanks for the benefit of your experience/s. I am taking notice of your advice and will carry copies with me to back up my words.
Here is the back cover to show what is inside, including a great shot of a contemplative Frank Gardner.
Off to work......... any more comments are welcome as I really want to be able to do another one (for 2013) to coincide with the Tasman Revival for 2012.

I love your work Lynton.
Perhaps something distracted Amon in the infield?
We must have been standing opposite each other Lynton!
Your photo show the same thing I discovered in 1967 - that the esses can be negotiated using different attitudes.
oversteer, neutral and understeer. Here Greg Cusack leads Spencer Martin and John Harvey.
Apologies about the lack of balance. (This was an early scan when I was really trying to learn scanning.)

I got the Tasman Series calendar today and am very pleased with it. Great photos, captures the era very nicely. On to the office wall on Monday!
Glad to hear you are a happy customer.
I'm really pleased you like the pics on the calendar as there was some discussion early in this thread about value for money.
Seems like we did get it right after all!!!
Rod.
