Glock seems confident on twitter that he's going to be at Melbourne racing, so I am confident too!

That man is a legend!

Racing in first race of the season? Quite an accomplishment for F1 team.

Not allowed to run it unless tested.

To run at all (filming days, straightline test) or only during normal testing?

They can't test without having passed the crash test. Filming days, not sure, but as they will be shaking the car down ready to ship, it would be rather fruitless to do that with a car that has yet to pass the test.

Filming days are excepted from the crash test rule, straight-line tests are not.

A shakedown does make sense to check all the systems. They can just bolt on the new nose cone or roll hoop - whatever failed the test - later. As long as it's not the tub at least.

Hope we get some pictures.

Hard to tell precisely, but no drop nose? Nice livery mind.

Car looks very nice form that angle, but chances are that it won't be as deadly as that tree frog.

Long nose, no visible McLaren influence

Nose looks really long - if it was a nose test they failed perhaps they just made one with more material to pass the test ASAP.

Also surprised they haven't changed the livery up a bit more adding some blue and white.

Can't really make any judgements from that photo though, even if the car still looks quite basic.

Nose is probably long, but it's a misleading photo angle and objective setting. The front is exaggerated the back is shrinking in the distance. In theory, such images [with this size] you must see from very-very close, literally centimetres to your monitor screen, with one eyes [at the center of it] and then you feel the correct perspective.

Long nose

They are a strategic element placed to mak the bestresults out of staring from the back of the grid. :p

It does look like a long nose, but most importantly it also features no step :D

Looks good really, decent livery as well. Hope this can actually run...

Yep looks very strange. Like a pre-2009 car.

Sorry I was talking about the livery, only got a quick glimpse while at work so haven't looked at the actual car much. But yeah I see that, weird.

My question whether it is crash tested car or not was valid:

Andrew Benson ‏ @andrewbensonf1

Marussia not yet passed final crash test. Pat Symonds: "has passed an ‘unobserved’ test but performing inconsistently in observed tests fail marginal but to completely eradicate that margin are taking time we have to ensure we have an even more robust solution”

Oh my lord. The front wing is half a mile off the ground!!

Is it that high off the ground so they can fit another car underneath it!!!???

If there would be points for look, this one gets it all.

The paint job is also great. Design like Sauber, but this one properly finished and not stopped halfway.

Thank you Marussia to give us two more normal looking cars on the grid.

What money? They were putting 30m max in, thats peanuts.

Maybe glock can get a force india or sauber seat for next year.

Not really in f1 terms, if its 90% or more of your budget. It is an enormous amount of money though, they wonder why no new teams join.

30m for this team would equate to half the budget!!

For the decal they have got, on this car, I'd say less than 1million.

Looks like Marussia's strategy for beating HRT and Caterham is to just ram them out of the way...

Yeah, you wrote 'looks', but it may have more meanings. :p

Sorry for those who tried it out (because the image size is far from ideal for nice perspective presentation, but it's there anyway). Such close focus point perspective representation can work to great effect on big size painting/drawings or photos on the wall and with the viewers at the right point. The art is more enchanting that way, the viewer feels the dimension of the imagery. I'm speaking about metres now. :smoking:

I can reveal that the long nose is to project the car further up the grid. :)

No way is Virgin putting in 30 million for an ad of that size, maybe it was on a McLaren it would be 30 million, but not on a Marussia!
