A good friend and fellow TNFer Adrian Goding has just finished this stained glass window showing a Panhard et Levassor finishing the Emancipation Run. It's rather nice and I thought that others might like to see it.

Beautiful work of art! I am always amazed by such things since I cannot draw a line myself...
Is the driver missing because he was too knackered to attend?

Well done indeed Mr Goding - I hit the link expecting v. little, but I'm really impressed, a lovely piece of work.

Like Doug I was expecting to be disappointed, but was wrong - it's excellent. I think that the technique suits this type of vehicle very well, while a more modern car wouldn't look so good.

It really is lovely. Adrian tells me it is just under 20 square feet and 1000 hours work. Superb!

Thank you all for your kind words and to Leigh for posting the link.
I started the sketches just after VSCC Prescott at the start of August and the last pieces of glass were cut on the 22nd December - having missed my initial deadline of the 2011 Brighton - at times I really wondered if I would finish it.
F-643 has been a regular runner to Brighton throughout the life of that event and most recently completed the 2011 run in fine style.
I have some plans for a similar size work to commemorate the '13 Alpine Trial - as you can see I am thinking ahead now!
Best wishes to everyone for 2012
