A recent picture of Leo Kinnunen, courtesy of Klas Eronen. Photo taken in September 2010 at the Auto Museum of Turun Sanomat ("Turun Sanomat" is the biggest local newspaper in Turku, Finland). Leo suffered a stroke in 2006, I believe. Also on the left side is Mr. Simo Lampinen, the legendary Finnish rally driver & rally organizer.

Do I spy Luigi Musso (2) and Paul Frère (5)?

I agree with those named so far. Is #4 a young Michael Andretti? Where are these photos from?

I think you are right on Frere, not so sure about Musso.

I think he is right on Musso, not sure about Frere though (although the person does look somewhat like him, so I'm not sure):)

I also have doubts about "Frere", mostly because the face is more full and the helmet and goggles appear to be American, as seen in sprint-car circles.

I am quite sure #2 is Musso and #5 is Frere.

Frére did use that type of heafgear in 1960. I don't think there's any doubt it's him

No doubt about Frere at all, he used that photo of himself in one of his books. I think it was in Automobile Year.

My thought was Davy Jones, but the photo doesn't look quite right for him. I'd say the same about Michael Andretti...

I do not believe there is ANY doubt about Eugenio, Luigi and Paul, also well done for spotting Alan Brown not one of the more famous drivers, but well known enough to us older guys. Incidentally Eric and I shared a table with Alan and others at Fangio's 80th Birthday Celebration at the Dorchester where a waiter managed to decant a jug of cream over my hired DJ. So you see I am unpopular where ever I go.

The others are a mystery to me, but I agree that that could be a young Andretti.

bauble.

Yes, the picture was taken by David Phipps on 3-5 October 1980 at Watkins Glen during USGP weekend. The full picture is available here: http://www.sutton-im...ews/8036621.jpg Linda Vaughn is beside Michael.

Where do you see Depailler is a mistery to me, but nevermind.

I don't see it as Depailler either.
