On the latest Motor Sport podcast, there was discussion about Hirohide Hamashima who has joined Ferrari from Bridgestone. The participants thought that he was the first engineer to move from a tyre company to a racing team. I remember Nigel Bennett who started with Firestone in the early seventies and went on to work for many teams, most notably Team Lotus and Penske, but were there others?

Incidentally, the podcast features Pat Symonds and is very highly recommended to anybody who regards Grand Prix racing as more than a ninety minute television entertainment.
