The last few events have been amazing and no doubt some of the best racing I've watched. It's certainly a perfect way to kick start the racing season!! If this is not your cup of tea, I urge you just to listen to the RX-8 for a lap. It's sensational. But those who followed Mazda's Group C efforts will know what I mean, rotary racing engines, fragile, not very fuel efficient but they more than make up for them flaws simply by the way they sound!

Thanks for the links Jp
Mainly interested in the GTs and cheering for the Risi Ferraris.
DPs meh but at least some of the cars look a bit better, hoping a Ganassi car won't win again.
Strange phenomenon Daytona, don't like the Prototypes, track is so so, miss half the race due to time difference and hate the many cautions but still look very much forward to it every year as it kind of signals the start of the racing season to me.

For me this is also the kickstart of the season, and to be fair it is when it comes to closed circuit racing.

Could someone explain the speedtv web stream please? Is it free live coverage - Radiolemans tweet just hinted that no legal steaming of the race in the UK. Will be tuned in RLM anyhow, but pics would be good too!

Of course, if you checked that funny corner of the interwebtubebook i'm quite sure you could find some pictures. I might be wrong, but I dont think any network is covering the whole 24 straight.
Hoping the GT battle lives up to spec, very limited proto entry. Those horrible vette jobs are utter balls. (Sorry Sonny!)
Also, I presume Brian Johnson is taking the place of a more talented driver after he kicked the bucket, and in doing so leaves a team that nobody would ever have heard of otherwise? Har har.

Well while I do like them, it is true that in the end they are just copy-and-paste bodyworks fitted into external chassis, with Chevy engine. Not much to play with
But even you must admit that they look better than those horribly ugly DPG2s ;)

I'm mainly watching the David Donohue/ Darren Law car. A good friend with a Donohue Javelin is down for the race and got to spend a half hour with David yesterday. I understand they are starting at the back due to a blown engine during qualifying in their new Corvette. It should be a car to watch as they were fast prior to the problem. A good and safe race to all the drivers and workers.

In GT I'll be following the Flying Lizards Porsche as usual, and the Risi Fezza's. The #67 TRG Porsche is a good lineup as well (Henzler, Bleekemolen, Pumpelly, Goossens) so that could one to watch...

I'll be cheering on the 40 and 41 Mazdas of Dempsey Racing, run by Patrick Dempsey who some of you may know as Doctor Derek Shepherd from Grey's Anatomy.

Will be following them as well, I do love me a good Wankel.

He was at lemans last year too. Not too shabby behind the wheel, for a thesp.
Dempsey wasn't at Le Mans last year (apart from doing some interviews for Eurosport), but in 2009 with GT2 Ferrari.
His team will be running in ALMS's LMPC class this season, possibly also in P2.
