I missed race 1 but race 2 was a cracker. Great battle between the top four, leading to an inevitable Plato/Neal clash. This time it was Neal who started it at Coram, barging his way through, to which Plato responded by taking him off at the next corner. Should we be surprised?

Andrew Jordan gets the win, which is great to see.

Idiotic move by Neal that was designed to take Plato off. Glad that Plato retaliated.

Yep, how Plato held onto that I don't know!

Race 3 should provide more fireworks, they are together on the grid

Ever since 2007 I've been a big Mat Jackson fan, I think he is probably in the top 3 best drivers in the field. With such a little running with the new car he has done well. Sure he has gained from misfortune of others but he is great at keeping it on the road and for the most part keeping it clean. Other than a few occasions.

As for Plato and neal... Well it was bound to happen. But then I do wonder if Plato brake tested him? Not sure.

Either way, these two guys are buy far the dirtiest racers on track.

Such a big Jackson fan you said it twice ;) I'm a bit of a fan of him too.

As for Plato/Neal, if one hadn't started it, the other would. This is just that kind of rivalry.

Actually went to Snetterton last week for a bit of Brit F3 and GT. Not really sure why we did, as it's miles away....

Pirched our selves at Agnostini. Great view from there. See a lot of the new section, most of Bentley straight and all the way round from he Bombhole, to the last corner.

This week's Autosport reports that Tony Gilham is planning an event along the lines of the 2004 BTCC Masters race for early next year at Brands Hatch, although it will be more like the Race of Champions, with participants driving a range of machinery in time trials.

I had it on yesterday but got a bit fed up with the low level of driving.

Andy Neate obviously decided that it was better just to miss out Knicerbrook chicane all together when overtaking or defending and i was also disappointed to see that Matt Jackson has now resorted to the cycnical 'push the guy infront past the hairpin apex' move as well now. It's not motor racing, it's just sh1t.

That has been the state of British tourers for years

Love Gilham, he seems genuinely dedicated to promoting British tin-top racing in all classes and for what is presumably very little personal financial gain (if any). I think he would be a great choice in the future to run TOCA (no-one would ignore his warnings on driving standards).

BMW's fastest? And Flash of course! Could be an interesting weekend. I'm backing T-OC for a first win of the year :)

Hope the weather holds out for anyone going.

Well look on the bright side, it can't have been worse than Siverstone, judging by the WSbR race

Maybe it'll brighten up...

At least we had good grandstand cover at Silverstone and the rain was pretty much only during the 3.5 race, I guess most people must be outside at Knockhill.

Knockhill is pretty hilly though, so I guess it must drain pretty quickly.

Just tuning in in time to see Jackson having his car fill up with exhaust fumes and having to retire. That's really bad luck for him.

Ouch! Big pileup at the start of the Ginetta GT support race. Looks like everyone is OK. Always dangerous when a car stalls on the grid.

ATTENTION! The touring cars will be on early for race 3 with the Ginetta's on later.

Congratulations to Dave Newsham! I guess once you have the first win out of the way it's all so easy

And Jeff Smith for handling all that Neal pressure so well  I was so sure we were going to see a last corner punt there from Matt ;)

Good full day of racing at Knockhill on Sunday, and it almost didn't rain
Usual mixture of heroes and villains, where I was standing in BTCC race 1 more than a few folk weren't unhappy that Plato got punted off. His subsequent remarks had most folk laughing, and Smith had a cheek to moan about Flash. I think Gow needs to have a rethink about the regs, surely S2000 cars shouldn't be winning like that against his beloved NGTC formula? Just saying...

...and a comedy comment from Harry Woodhead in the Ginetta Juniors. IIRC he did the whole race with this prototype aero device, so absolute credit to him. Geddie tried the same in Race 2 of the Porsches, but with no success.

Lucky you! Saw a few people applauding on the telly. I guess JP does rather set himself up for that though...

Isn't that just all the boost/weight penalties holding back the ngtc cars?

Pretty much, when you add in a track where tyre wear is minimal and straight line speed is a must to stand any chance of passing, the S2000 cars had it made this weekend. Even the Honda's immense cornering couldn't help. They need to look at that as soon as possible, being 7 mph down on the straights is ridiculous, whatever the idea behind it.

I suspect the S2000 cars won't have such an advantage at Rockingham, which has lots of long corners.

Yup which is what i forgot to include. almost certainly they will be struggling to finish in the top 10 (WSR) this time round. The sooner they equalize everything and get all the cars to NGTC spec the better. Boost then needs to be better managed, the Dynamic's hondas are seriously struggling to stop the overboosts because of the low amount they are allowed. But then again this is a series that wants Plato as its champion year in and year out and will do what they can to make sure it happens.

Yes indeed, and I agree with it pretty much all of it. Plato is probably the most talented driver in the series, so why does he feel that he has to drive like a rock-ape, and to behave like a petulant toddler?

Dave B finally putting a voice to a large portion of fans, who have finally had enough of Plato and his antics. Even Matt Neal has toned his driving style down the past few years. Seems Jason is the only one clinging on to old ways.

This year's BTCC would be just a British club racing series without Plato and Neal...it's really missing those works teams and paid professional European drivers of the 90's....maybe we can get back to that some day....here's hoping...Cheers Ian

I agree to an extent. I like the destruction derby and blatant cheating (taking each other off) elements in the BTCC. Without them, it wouldn't hold my interest as the cars aren't interesting and the drivers are certainly not good enough.

Yeah, saw that on ITV. It was well and truly stuck, wasn't it? Poor Harry would have had to stop and get it in reverse to get that off
Surprised the thing didn't overheat really. I guess some air must have got around it somehow.

For the second year running, Matt Neal has broken his hand in an off-track incident. He will race at Rockingham, but will this be the break (ha) that Shedden and Plato need?

I'm sure Flash will be looking to score big points this time. Matt might still be racing but he won't be taking as many risks with his injury. Not sure about how Plato will be able to capitalise. Hopefully it's an exciting meeting.

More fun in the Ginettas today with both senior and junior races having a variety of shunts. Hope they filmed the senior race in particular as it had all sorts and a thrilling finish.
