I do hope you have success with your pursuit, it's a nice tribute to follow on from your past efforts to have him recognised.

Yes I know Joe Fan is the author

but seeing as the seller believes the book is about Marston Gregory and the author Michael J Fox, one does wonder whether he really has any idea what he's talking about.

That's actually a typo - my notes say 1963. And if you're looking for a pedant, I'm your manI didn't know he drove a Tasman Lola in 1965 either. I know he did in 1963, but some pedant will, no doubt, tell us that this wasn't the Tasman series.
That one comes under the 'O' section of my 'E&O' caveatIs the 1965 Indy BRP car missing from the list?

I see that Green Mountain Motorbooks (no relation) will sell one for $350.00 US.This book was difficult to find when new. I got a copy from the author or publisher via the web, but it took a little detective work. There are three copies currently on Amazon (US) at $400 each! Whatever, it's a good read, certainly a book that was needed.

For those who are interested, there is a brand new (February 2012) book about Masten Gregory that has been published called "Masten Gregory - The Maverick", written by a French author named Patrick Sinibaldi, although the book is in English as the author believes the book will have a larger audience than if it would if written in French, due to the subject matter. It is 272 pages long and includes photos, some in color. If you Google the title of the book, you should be able to link to Motors Mania in Pau, France, a bookseller who I receive newsletters from. Cost is basically 30 Euros plus shipping. Using economy (2 week) shipping to North America at 5 Euros, the full cost will be about $50 U.S. or Canadian. Motors Mania accepts credit cards and Paypal and is currently offering the book on eBay as well (item 150760997101) , since they are also an eBay seller. Other than the newsletter and auction listing, I haven't seen the book myself, so I can't offer any opinion on it.I see that Green Mountain Motorbooks (no relation) will sell one for $350.00 US.

Got my copy today - looks good, apart from the fact that "my" M1B becomes a M19!For those who are interested, there is a brand new (February 2012) book about Masten Gregory that has been published called "Masten Gregory - The Maverick", written by a French author named Patrick Sinibaldi -- Other than the newsletter and auction listing, I haven't seen the book myself, so I can't offer any opinion on it.
Incidentally I see Masten would have been 20 next week - he was born on the 29th Feb 1932!
In Killarney (Cape Town) earlier this month I drove two of his old cars back to back - "my" McLaren and Doug Mockett's Cooper T53. David Piper was there and said he was a great friend of Masten's "we smoked the same tobacco" and that Masten always said he expected to be killed, so what was the point of saving money.. they also shared a ward in hospital after both crashing at Goodwood - I think it was the time Masten baled out of his Tojeiro and David got his face cut up badly in another incident
