I really enjoyed the most recent Senna movie and wondered what material is out there for 1950s/1960s drivers and who has it. The producer of the Senna movie stated that he got full access to Bernie Ecclestone's archive and there was tons of never seen before material. I would love for a similar documentary to be produced someday for Masten Gregory.

I fully realize that there won't be tons of material out there for the 1950s and 1960s era but there has to be more than we would think. I know my great uncle had a home video camera in the late 1950s and took home video of vacations and family get-togethers on Kodak 8mm and he was not particulary rich.

A good starting point would be a subscription to Motorfilms Quarterly, and acquisition of the backnumbers. http://www.motorfilm...-quarterly.html
There is a pretty good source of 50s/60s films available out there such as the old archive material produced by Shell, Castrol, BP, Rootes Group, Standard-Triumph, BRSCC etc
Also, seek out the films posted by roydpg on YouTube

Found this the other day: http://rouenlesessar...68.htm?start=15

Once you have viewed a clip you are presented with a matrix to choose another one.

Some extraordinary Rouen, Montlhéry, Le Mans footage and many, many other circuits. By clicking around you are then given more choices.

I particularly enjoyed the 1970 Grand Prix de Paris compilation - great memories of some bygone names (and some who are still with us).

 Hi Joe Fan.I too enjoy early motor racing, and I have a good collection of early N.Z. and
Australian motor racing. Luckily ,I kept a batch of Mairehau (N.Z.) racing on 16.mm film and had
them converted to DVD and video..Good racing shots can be seen of great drivers including Ronnie
and Les Moore,Ray Achibald,Roycroft,Smith,Shuter,Stanton, etc etc..plus other competition events
including 1940.s grass hillclimb, a sprint and a gymkhana. Also I have videos of interviews, race
meeting anniversaries..
