I am a stranger from the 4 wheel part of this forum and a seeker after information.
In a thread we have there entitled "Pre-War sprints and hillclimbs photos" you can find details of various strange beasties built on GN (that is Godfrey & Nash) chassis. The motive power for these is a strange assortment but includes the above. There is one particular "car" named Loki, which I am thinking about recreating, that started out with a Douglas Flat Twin described in one post as "Speedway". This engine was then supplanted by the Speedway JAP which originally powered "Salome"(q.v.).
Can any of you point me in the direction of what is usually termed "required reading, or indeeed, expond further on these two units.
Thanks in advance
JF

Hi JF.
You could contact the London Douglas MCC - thay have some very knowledgable members and a quite extensive technical archive on all things Douglas. There are some members that have speedway/ grass track bikes that are regualarly used in "demonstration" rides
Alternatively, there is a Douglas Motorcycles forum, but I do not think it is officialy associated with the club.
