I'm looking for information on Bill Gay the Editor of South West Racing News (SWRN) published back in the 1960's.
Is he still around?
Thanks,
Bob

I've never heard of the man. Which South West was he from - Australia, England, USA, Canada - or maybe even South Africa?

That would be the Southwestern US of A. He covered a lot of races in Texas, Lousiana and Oklahoma.

I knew Bill slightly in the late 1960s, and he wasn't a particularly young man then. R. David Jones, former chairman of the SCCA, was from Fort Worth, and is still around. Possibly he would know. (Willem Oosthoek, through Jerry Entin, would know how to contact him.)

Cynic: I never knew him but, the tabloid was started in 1963 and the editor/publisher was Bill Gay, whose office was in Garland, Texas.
There is still a Billy Gay in Garland, possibly his son.
all research: Willem Oosthoek
