Just curious where the forecasts are sourced from for the current round? The homepage at the moment shows the following for Melbourne:

Today Hi 13°C / 55°F
Partly Cloudy Lo 5°C / 41°F

Tomorrow Hi 14°C / 58°F
Partly Cloudy Lo 2°C / 35°F

Tuesday Hi 14°C / 58°F
Partly Cloudy Lo 3°C / 38°F

Wednesday Hi 14°C / 58°F
Partly Cloudy Lo 6°C / 42°F

Thursday Hi 14°C / 57°F
Partly Cloudy Lo 7°C / 44°F

Which is *way* off-beam regarding temperature.

The forecast for Melbourne is currently (according to weather.com.au and the BoM temps are similar):

MON 12 25
TUE 13 30
WED 19 30
THU 21 29

Was just curious more than anything.

IIRC The "live" weather usually goes online late Monday afternoon before a GP

Essential part of the weekend. I hope the lack of a link is just an oversight and that it will appear later today

It appears its moved off completely onto a Wordpress blog: http://f1weather.wor...d-prix-weather/

That's despite it looking in an identical form to last year: http://live.autospor...tary.php/id/429

And the fact that the weather commentator, Emlyn Hughes still works for Autosport: https://twitter.com/#!/radarguruf1

Someone asked Emlyn about the weather aspect on his blog: http://f1weather.wor...d-prix-weather/

Hi Emlyn,

Will you be writing here instead of Autosport or as well as?

--------------------------------------------------

Hello Simon, good question.

Yes, the weather aspect of what I do on a weekend will run here. It may change within WordPress itself as I go along and learn which plug-ins I would like to incorporate into the blog etc, but essentially, yes the weather information will run here throughout the 2012 racing season. The blog was only created on Thursday or Friday of last week, so there will be developments as we go along.

Would just like to record my frustration that another of Autosport.com's most worthwhile features has now moved out into independent blogs. If the weather analysis had gone behind the paywall, it would at least have been a compelling reason to maintain my subscription. As it is, Weekly Grapevine and Forix aside the only things I feel happy to pay for are the things like the forums and news which are free anyway. :well:

The fact that not even those easy to grab from any on-line weather service/site 5-day pictorials forecasts are available any more means something, I'd guess. Either weather is not important for F1 races -- which is highly improbable -- or F1 is not important for autosport neé Atlas... But both Em and Scarbs have blogs, don't they?
