Yesterday saw the Goodwood Media Preview take place, promoting this year's forthcoming Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival Meeting. Some 123 cars and motorcycles appeared, a la launch Festival back in 1993...


Festival 012 will celebrate 50 years of the AC/Shelby Cobra - while the Revival Meeting will feature the 75th celebration of the Silver Arrows' (foreground) first competitive appearance upon British soil...


Yeah, well, I plead innocence - the Willment/Jack Sears Cobra of Brands Hatch black flag fame with, right, the Chequered Flag-entered Bondurant/Piper 1966 Ilford 500-winning 427...


What was once 'my' Lotus 49 from the NMM at Beaulieu - 60 years of the Lotus marque also to be suitably celebrated... Mercedes-Benz W125 in the mid-ground previews the major attraction Silver Arrows feature to grace this year's Revival Meeting....


The magnificent George Daniels Collection R-R Silver Ghost and 'Floretta' - his 1908 GP Itala - are going to market in the Bonhams auction at the Festival.


Julian Majzub's latest - the pioneering rear-engined Sadler-Chevrolet Mk 5 pre-dated so many big-banger sports-racers with engine behind driver...


Aston Martin, Ford and MGB - democracy in the Park...


Packed Preview Day 'paddock' before the House...


One of the most tuneful noises on the hill...


Malcolm Barber of Bonhams rightly enthusing over the Daniels Collection Tim Birkin 'Blower' Bentley single-seater - sometime Brooklands Outer Circuit lap record holder, also to be auctioned at the Festival. A few million might put you in with a chance...


GTO, Lotus, Mini, Merc...as I said, democracy in the Park...


Richard Attwood in the Gulf Ford GT40 was amongst those chauffeuring press and sponsors ...

Jerry Judah's erection in front of the house this year will feature Lotus.

Sebastian Vettel will be coming to the Festival.

There's going to be an Austin J4 race at the Revival, probably not the complete circuit.

A slip of the brain Alan. Yes it's the J40 pedal cars and I think it'll be twice round the starting grid.

Why do Auto Unions continue to be displayed with black race numbers when there is no evidence to indicate they ever competed with anything other than red numbers ?
