Yet another tardy performance on my part this weekend - I'm turning into Nico Rosberg. Still have a few more to edit, but in the meantime...

Compare a proper F1 with the current ugly mad boffins nightmares. Half a wing, 4 front tyres and then all those silly attachments,
Also compare modern F1 drivers. One looks like a rapper and one looks like a racing driver. And this week the racing driver won too!

Hoist with my own petard... Any physical similarities are decidedly slight, but I have been called worse. Here, meanwhile, are a few more from the former Vickers Wellington enclave...

Who is this Gonzales chappie?

Possibly Chilly Gonzales, the pianist. Maybe he attended the Jim Russell School during the 1980s, or he might have driven a Mallock in a Libre race at a Peterborough Motor Club meeting at some point. That's my best guess, anyway.

How appropriate - I remember when the drivers were driven round sat on the back of sports cars in grid order so that you could see individuals. Far better that you stick them on the back of a flatbed!

Are you sure you aren't confusing Nuremburg with Nürburg? The only circuit near the first is the infamous but not often used Norisring, while the second is close to the rather better known Nürburgring. Nuremburg has a somewhat more prominent place in the history of the last century.

I was talking about the Norisring.

di Resta raced there in DTM, Hamilton, Kobayashi and Grosjean all raced in the Euro F3 series and I took all 6 German's as having raced there as well.

I'm confused - I can only think of five Germans who were on the Silverstone grid: Vettel, Schumacher, Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Glock. Who (or what) am I missing?

Looking at the list I originally made last night it appears I included Sutil in my list, who of course isn't racing this year. My apologies. Still, over a 1/3 of the grid have taken part in a race at the Norisring.
