Tyrrell won 3 drivers' championships and 1 constructors' championship...

Though, you might argue that one of the drivers' championship was indeed a Matra. Even though Ken Tyrrell was the team principle. It was entered under the "Matra International" name.
That means that the team now known as Mercedes, actually was Matra from the beginning, and have gone through 6 namechanges!

ice frog

Great. So now the team has gone from the dark horse and talk of the paddock into a joke in less than a day.
I just want to see how fast that car really is. Is that too much to ask? :well:

Allright. I will chime in. I still think Magnum GP is the best suggestion :p
Maybe Angry Frogs could work. An idea for a new game as well.

Years from now? Who knows???

Dumb.

That's what this thread is all about.

I say it'll be called after some brand Genii capital has bought or something like that. Never Genii itself.

Just call them Enstone and be done with it.

Also, this team isn't the same as the other teams that have changed hands and names over the years. This team of all of them that changed through the years, is the one that retained its identity the most. The DNA of this team is still the old Benneton team.

Already called "Kimi's team" in 80% of media. Could make it official

I say call it "Caterham", have a year long legal battle, win it and then drop the name in the next few months.

George Agdgdgwngo

He's already lined up a sponsorship deal with HRT apparently.

I think it's pretty much a done deal, George is just waiting on some credit card details.

There are rumours that GL gave a loan to the team. So despite the end of sponsorship deal, name change is unlikely. And anyway, I think GL may now be happy as long as there's a team called Lotus. And Lotus name attracts more sponsors, so I think keeping Lotus name, and black & gold livery, makes sense for the Enstone team. But, unless GL requires them to use GL logos, I think they should not use them, to show GL they don't want to give free advertise.

Yeah, Donald could run the apprentice show for race car drivers and then grant the F1 seat.

What a joke this is. Treating the Lotus name like the way they and now this. Colin Chapman must be turning in grave, even more now.

Colin Chapman has turned a lot in his grave recently. I believe is nickname in Heaven is now "The fan".
