Superlicense podcast is imho the best F1 podcast there is.They publish frequently, have great personalities and manage to be funny and informative with just two guys in front of the microphones. I do a video game podcast myself, and know how hard it is do with just two. The australian accent is also a plus  (Only wish I could remember to send in my predictions)

Formula one rejects is my second favorite. Would love for them to publish more frequently.

MotorsportMagazine podcast with Pat Symonds

http://www.motorspor...th-pat-symonds/

Always good to hear what he has to say about current matters in F1.

This really is sensational - again.  It ought to be required listening before people post in some threads.

Some highlights;

  • Comments on how Williams has been moving forwards and why they have been conservative.
  • Why they were not quite gelling previously.
  • Design philosophies - when things do or do not get added to the car and why F1 cars are inherently unstable.
  • Why they were not aggressive in Austria.
  • What he thinks of Bottas and Massa.
  • Would he rather have Alonso in the car for free or $25m funding.
  • Should pit to car radio be banned?
  • The truth about the summer break.
  • Low profile tyres and what they mean for the teams.

Pat was in the previous month's podcast, from Formula Student and that's well worth a listen too.

...and the reason why FRIC removal may have had less of an impact.

Symonds has been the best guest by far, and that includes Anderson. Who had a few good ideas but also some that made me think "err, you can't really think that..."

I also find the older the guest the more entertaining the podcast, though that's for stories not info. Derek Bell made me actually laugh out loud. Okay it was Merzario downshifting for the banking at Daytona, but still...

I remember Symonds has been a regular start of season guest but I can't see him on other, previous podcasts on iTunes.

Brilliant, thanks.  So Jan 2012 is Pat and Nov 10.

If I have to level a criticism at the podcast it's when Rob Widdows gets all mysterious about the fantastic guest he's got coming up 'but first the subscription stuff...' when you've already got there by clicking a link to 'August podcast with Pat Symonds.'  Not quite a deal breaker.

True but many of their readers probably suffer from short term memory loss anyway, considering their age.

And speaking of Motor Sport Magazin, another thing I thought of... eh, wait... Darn, what was it...

Don't know if a great deal here listen to them, but F1 rejects are doing a live podcast of the Russian GP and if there one of the 2011 Indian GP is any indication it will be pretty awesome, or if you just want to escape certain commentators you aren't fond of. They are also doing a live preview vodcast type thing before the race.

+1.

I'm happy to call Todd & Paul friends. Great guys, and quite knowledgeable in the world of motorsport.

I re-listened to the Perry McCarthy & Weaver/Wallace MMP's again yesterday. Had me in stitches.

F1 rejects shut down for good today. I hate that. A lot of fond memories listening to their podcasts.

That is terribly sad. You could -- and I did -- spend many hours in there.

Indeed. Dreadful news. That was a great site and the podcasts were fun too. I will miss them.

It's re-starting in due course as Grand Prix Rejects.

I understand that FOM forced F1 Rejects to close down because its use of the term F1.  If so, then I can't express what I would like to do to them on here because it would break laws in so many countries even ISIS would be startled.

You got to be kidding me? I mean, will I get FOM on my back if I make the site F1-Guide, for all the uses of the keyboard button?

Surprising, given how F1 Rejects has been around for what, the whole century?

Reminds me a bit of another recent story of how the economist running NASCARnomics.com was forced under legal pressure to change his website to Racingnomics.com. He'd been publishing analysis of the drop in NASCAR's TV ratings...
