One of the really good guys, in several dimensions, and a true fixture in Southern California racing. Condolences to his family and friends.

I came across a photo of his 1980 BP Vette just yesterday... hadn't thought of him in years.

Nooo... that's some sad news.
Andy and his shop on Placentia Ave. in Costa Mesa were an institution in the local So. CA racing scene for decades. He loved what he did and it showed – he was a really good guy. One would have thought he'd live forever on enthusiasm alone.

RIP Andy. I had many good conversations with Andy. And heard many funny comments.
One was at a National at Phoenix International. Another guy was talking about his problems, he had blown up his Corvette motor. Andy asked him if when he opened the throttle plates if he could see the ground. When assured the ground was not visible, Andy asserted that is wasn't that bad.
