Another Boor irrelevance.... but interesting to this anorak.

At the above F.2 race on August 3rd the cars were numbered from #22 Bristow to #39 Parkes. (The Smith Climax was #40 but never appeared.) However, Keith Greene was #160.

Simple question - why?

A pure guess - there were other races on the programme with cars numbered from 1 to 21 and 41 to 159. Keith Greene was a late entry.

A very sound bit of reasoning, Roger.

Certainly that is how cars were numbered in those days; but I'd have expected the F.2 cars to have begun at #1.

Anyone got a programme?

I was there, had I known of your dilemma I would have asked him, though whether he would have talked to a 14 year-old I don't know - I would suggest he was a late entry...

I was there too-but as a 17yr old schoolboy could not afford a paddock ticket  budget only ran to admission, bus fare from north london, and programme-sadly lost in course of about 6 home moves since.Remember this race well 53 yrs later-with Bristow winning in orange nose pale green BRP Cooper.

Rather than starting a new thread, could someone tell me what was John Davy's connection was to Formula Junior racing?

About the same relevance as any other sponsor, JDavy were a car sales and rental organisation so that I suppose it may be argued that their stock in trade covered the engines, gearboxes and brakes used in FJ before the manufacturers spoiled the formula by spending millions on it.
