It's been confirmed, one driver down for the Force India, Marussia and Caterham seat, many more to go..

I think he never had a real option to land one of this seats.

I seriously doubt that. I don't believe for one minute that he would walk away from F1.

So I go on Twitter and see people saying Bruno Senna's and Caterham's websites are down at the same time with Senna's having "Under Construction" and Caterham removing some sponsors. It is the Silly Season!

VAG would buy up the Toyota facility.

Ha! That would certainly be ironic considering the current situation in the WEC!

formula1.com mentions Narain karthikeyan as a possible candidate for the remaining 3 seats with his good backing form TATA. This forum ignores him every year and in the last 2 years he has surprised every one here.
Add to one of the vacancies -just in case.

Caterham site is running now without Petrov's sponsors.

We ignore him out of hope he'll go away if no one mentions his name.

Lol are you Narain Karthikeyan?

I think people have been surprised he was still around last year, as there are better drivers out there than Narain. It's a bit of a silly list though, unless formula1.com know something others don't, as Kobayashi (who has ruled himself out this year), Alguersuari, Glock, Valescchi and a few others are there who don't seem to have any chance starting this season on the grid.

We ignore him out of hope he'll go away if no one mentions his name.

Maybe he's like Beetlejuice, say his name three times and he appears. Cucumber, cucumber . . . I can't bring myself to say it.

The 3 drivers with the highest budgets are Geido VdG, Luis Razia and Bruno Senna, according to Peter Windsor in F1 Racing, so I would not look too far beyond these for the remaining seats.

So now Alguersuari is confirmed to be the Pirelli test driver again, can he still be able to drive in Formula One or elsewhere?

DiGrassi will be racing for Audi in the WEC, so racing outside F1 is certainly possible.

Ah right cheers.

Has anyone else heard any rumours because all I heard is Senna to Caterham, Petrov to Marussia.

Interesting classing Petrov as Asian, I always think of Russia as European but I guess it depends on what part he's from?

No i do not think Pdr is confirmed. They have included him in the list to FIA. But i do not think they actually have signed him yet.

Well, he is from Vyborg, that's definitely Europe (not far from the border to Finland).

For GP2 Asia purposes Russia and Turkey were classified as non-European countries.

The last time (I think) a team had an all-Asian line-up was the 2010 British Grand Prix - HRT fielded Karun Chandhok and Sakon Yamamoto.

You can add that Vyborg was actually a Finnish city between World War I and II.

I would clasify Petrov as an European driver, but when the country lies on 2 continents, there is always some room for interpretation.;)

I'd love to see that too. The longer this goes on, I wonder if there's going to be a driver pairing like this from out of the blue.

You can add that Vyborg was actually a Finnish city between World War I and II.

I seem to be learning more bits of historical trivia on this board than watching the History Channel with their collection of Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and other rubbish  .

I think for the all daffy comments he's made, Sepp Blatter said it best saying 'Russia is a continent in itself'.

Yes, I think that's quite true; a lot of people got pissed off with the unwarranted level of praise and took great pleasure in seeing his 'downfall', but to be fair the hype wasn't largely his fault, even if it's gone to his head a touch. Human nature I'm afraid; I used to enjoy watching Andy Murray but, as a general big fan of the sport, the more Sky Sports make him the be all and end all of tennis the more I want to see him lose.

When was the last time a British player made it to three or more consecutive grand slam finals * ? For that, I can forgive Sky and the BBC for their excessive hype of the man.

* It was Fred Perry who made it to five consecutive finals, between 1933 - 34.

Yeah, thought it was a silly question

Then again, I suppose the Charles Pic image could be fake because it's from his Marussia days. I haven't checked their website. Also, I want that person to send us a link about Petrov and Kobayashi to Force India.

Well it's the Force India launch in 2 days and they have still not announced any drivers, so who exactly will be unveiling the car on Friday? Vijay Mallya and Bob Fernley? Why have they left it so late? Sorting a Ferrari engine deal? Problems with Mallya in India? Are they looking for someone who will bring the most money?
