It was surely only a matter of time.
Why? As far as I see it, it appears to be a behavioural complaint rather than one of incompetence/megalomania which has been more readily associable. Perhaps it's related, but no need to speculate when you make fun instead.

The writing was on the wall before the bricklayers turned up to build it, I'm only surprised its taken this long, I'm not speculating, it'll be mildly interesting to see what develops, I suspect some of the linen will be dirty, and will be washed all to publically.

Don't forget Freddie Mercury. He had a hand in this.Bahar doesn't deserve this. It was all Swiss Beatz' fault. Or Alesi's.

Read that they are going to investigate his deed. But Bahar just operated according to his business plan right?
Got to say never the less, this person once was called business miracle now is suspended,... should it be a case?

Not surprised to see him on the verge of getting fired, but surprised by the reason claimed to be the cause of this.

I would imagine so. All his projects other than the Esprit are now cancelled (and even that preceded him) too.Could this be a way to get rid of him without paying ridiculous amounts of money?

Surprisingly restrained at this point, but some of the comments are pretty funny, Joe's included-
Bahar and his goons are not really F1 these days… just history really.

+1 for the yellow livery. Formula One needs yellow cars.Wait, so what happens now? Do we go back to calling Kimi Raikkonen's car a Renault or do we still call it a fake Lotus? Can we have the yellow bee livery back please?
Watch Kimi swoop in and offer to call it ICE 1 Racing. With a Clause that lets him race Rally Finland.

As of now, this doesn't effect the Lotus F1 team at all.

Source: SkiddMark.comAs a result of a number of media inquiries, Group Lotus plc (“Lotus”) can today confirm that, following an operational review, Chief Executive Dany Bahar has been temporarily suspended from his role to facilitate an investigation into a complaint about his conduct made by Lotus’ penultimate parent company, DRB-HICOM Berhad.
In Mr Bahar’s absence, Dato’ Lukman Ibrahim, Mr Mohd Khalid Yusof and Mr Aslam Farikullah (representatives of Lotus’ parent companies ) have been authorised by Group Lotus plc’s board to handle and conduct the day to day management and affairs of the Lotus Group. They will be assisted by Mr Rusman Zaihan. They have been authorised to take up these duties during the suspension period.
A spokesman for DRB-HICOM Berhad said: “The penultimate holding company would like to stress it is business as usual at Lotus. We fully support the company and will continue to support Lotus in its business endeavours and development.”

Decisions exceeding his limit of authority. Allegedly, Bahar unilaterally made several key decisions without informing, consulting or getting the approval of the Board of Directors of Proton Holdings Berhad. So really, what is the nature of this 'complaint'?

That said, the Lotus name DID actually visit the podium this year. Maybe he had a bet with someone and thats why Renault became Lotus?

When, in 2010, he said Lotus (now Caterham) should be a podium contender within 3 years I knew this guy wouldn't last long.

He is the reason why 1Malaysia no longer race as Lotus Racing. That deal was brokered before he was given his role at Group Lotus, and its been his vision to put Lotus' name in so many motorsport categories.

I doubt my day could get any better. Although I am a little sad I wont be able to see his smug face at either Goodwood or the opening of the Lotus store in London.

Ok but subsequently the bias made no decision to reverse the project to cancelation. Indy engine deal was indeed a bad advertisement. Some in effective parts in comming to contractural agreements did not ended up in court cases in the litigation country like USA MADD me thought that Bahad and his executives has found an 'amicable' path, but was it amicable in a sense that teams got what they wanted?

I'm never one to take delight from the downfall of someone else but, actually, on this occasion i am. It would seem as though the bloke needs taking down a peg or two, at least that the impression i get.

I think the major concern at the moment is whether the company will still be running...
But if it does have a secure future, I think consolidation of the current model lineup will be the first order of business. They actually have some very exciting cars at the moment in the Evora and the Exige S, but Bahar was caught up in the 'douchebagification' of the company's image and brand, forgetting that he had actually had some real cars to sell.

And he spent £375,000 of lotus's (right plural?) money doing up a rented house.

http://www.autocar.c...xpenses-disputeBahar and Lotus are currently in dispute with a self-employed builder in regard to an unpaid bill of £92,845 for work done on one of his homes.
