It's a shame really in a sport where milliseconds make the difference to see such poor timing and HUD quality...

And a British oneA Venezuelan Rosberg.
I guess because of Grosjean's absence, flags are out of position by one from 2nd to 8th.

Yes, it was very unnerving! I was watching with Sky, not sure if it was just a Sky problem or world feed?Anyone else's coverage not have the times down the side of the screen at times?

Id guess it was the world feed, spoilt what was probably the best Qualifying of the season so far.Yes, it was very unnerving! I was watching with Sky, not sure if it was just a Sky problem or world feed?

The problem first occured in Spain, where we had race standings frozen for over 10 laps (which kept showing Kovalainen in 5th). FOM/LG is really disappointing this year...

Vettel doesn't seem to have the speed around here that his late countryman Ayrton had.
I got quite annoyed that the top 10 weren't being shown on-screen during the closing stages of quali. I had no idea of who was where until a fair while after it finished. Poor show

When the pitstop phase is about the 1 and 2 stage for about 10 - 15 minutes the graphics lock in on telling us how many stops and no intervals. Isn't there a simple way to do both, like Australian TV does for Bathurst with a little number for the pitstop situation?
Similarly at some point in the race the graphics lock into time splits mode which it stays on for at least 15 minutes. It's easy for the viewer to use simple arithmetic to see a gap from say 6th to 7th but it is a lot harder to work out is 7th is losing time overall to the leader.
There have been numerous times where the timing has got stuck for 5 laps or so even after major positional changes have occurred.

The 2009 live timing crashing wasn't bad, it was amazing. Don't tell me you didn't love Alonso running around asking everyone their times?
And when telling JB his time he got a response (caught on camera) of "F**KING Hell!"

As with most things LG, they malfunction.

I can see the times down the left hand side of the screen, but no drivers names or numbers, pointless and lost

What grinds my gears is the aspect ratio or something.
I can see the times down the left hand side of the screen, but no drivers names or numbers, pointless and lost
You're watching a widescreen feed on a 4:3 TV. Press a few buttons to squish the image down to fit everything in

I miss Tag Heuer.
Yeah. Me too.
On another note, the FOM live timing could be tweaked at last to indicate the bloody compounds the cars are running on. It is frustrating not have that relevant info. You have no info whatsoever, until the car is shown on the screen, even than sometimes it is not possible to decide at first.

No, that wasn't it. I tried all my aspect ratio's [on my WS TV] and still couldn't see the names on the timing board. Pretty amateur and it lasted for most of quals.

You talking about the live timing or the graphics on screen? Because they've just started showing tyre compound this year.

Seems odd that you had the times down the side in quali, considering a whole load of us were complaining about not seeing anything today
Could be a problem your broadcaster made?

I just wonder even if the computer made a mistake mixing up the flags of the guys that ran in FP1, from where came the American flag? Rossi wasn't there! You couldn't make this stuff up
#32

You couldn't make this stuff up Why do they even have an American flag in the first place?
Alexander Rossi had an FP1 outing(or more?) earlier this year.

I don't remember such constant mistakes on F1 graphics in any time of F1.
Come on LG, you guys are a great company and can do better than that.

Might have something to do with the fact that the graphics back then were less sophisticated, meaning there was less that could go wrong.I have to say these are some very weird glitches. I can't remember this shit happening in the 90s FFS!

yes that's true...the question is why arent we showed this info on tv as it's possible? Mika Salo said that judges and all the teams have tv-data that shows every tyre types and even the laps every driver have done with each tyre set.
