Good afternoon!

Some may argue that this thread may not belong here, but I didn't want to post it to the other sections of the forum due to various reasons. Also, the main question regards Group C support race, so hopefully it would fit :)

I'm planning my trip to Le Mans this year for the second time after attending the race in 2010 and among the questions I still couldn't find an answer to is whether there is any entry list for Group C race? What cars will be racing and who will be driving? Maybe I've done a bad search, but I couldn't find this info so far. Thanks in advance!

I am still not sure whether I will have paddock access, but anyway promise the photos I will be able to take.

Cheers!

I will be there in the Frogeye (not competing). Camping on Bleu Nord. I'd come and say hello. However the tend not to let the mere mortals into the historic padoc these days.
Have a great race

A Jaguar XJR5 listed in group C2!

It should be in an IMSA class, but no such exists, apparently.

As I recall it, the main difference between C1 and C2 was the fuel consumption. So, if the driver of the XJR5 doesn't floor the throttle too often, he should be OK in C2.

C2 also had a 750 kg weight limit...about the same as a Jag V12 mit Hewland fitted...

The XJR-5 in C2 is a performance thing, if I remember the driver and proud owner Don Miles correctly. Met him in Aarhus, Denmark for a demo run of about 10 group C and other prototype cars during the historic racing meeting. The Jag, from about 1983-1984, is simply getting a little old compared to the competition. The C2 cars are late 1980s or newer.

Don't know if fuel regulations are in use in historic group C racing, though?

Doesn't look like it.

I doubt its any coincidence they'll be showing '48 hours' instead.

I'm running the Lancia LC2 (Chassis 002) in the Group C support race. Car 5.

And sharing the duties in car 66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari 458 in the main event.

Please come and say hi. It is a long week and always nice to meet and chat to TNFers and other enthusiasts.

I have just learnt Australian tv channel OneHd (50) is going to televise the 2012 Le Mans 24 hour race on the Saturday 30th of June, at 5 PM. It doesn't say for how long for. Check your EPG's a week out from that date.

And can I say how beautiful the Lancia looked - albeit on Eurosport. Sorry about the Ferrari.

What happened to the Ferrari? I missed the point when it stopped running. Nothing too serious, I trust.

Lancia looked great!

Thanks.

The Ferrari suffered a broken drive shaft that put us out of the race stranded on the Mulsanne straight around 7.30am. A real shame as we were running very well, consistent and decent pace up to that point.

That's a bugger, but at least it wasn't serious to driver or car (less important, obviously!), and you made it through the night. Not spectacular enough to feature on the Eurosport coverage it seems.

A long treck back to the pits though!

Finally I started uploading my photos to Flickr:

Not pro shots, you know, and with no media accreditation, but hope you'll still like them :) I'll be updating the album from time to time, although not very fast.

P.S. Just realized it was my 100th post here :stoned:

And yes, this year's Le Mans was a special week for me, too - I've got sunburnt under that rain somehow :D
