If not all, nearly all I guess.

I think is something like 13 of 20 turned into wins and 19 of 20, turned into podium finish. Not 100% sure but it's something like that.

i would say 60%-70% chances pole to race win. i still believe the RBR is much superb faster car out there. RBR sure will leading the race unless there is accident due to raining. The winner might not be the top 5 qualifying cars and a JACKPOT race winner unexpected from midfield team.

If its a dry track I think RBR will be car to beat. In full wet probably McLaren, and in drying track Ferrari - this is sort of emerging as a pattern this season.

I think even on dry Ferrari would be the car to beat, as it's fast corners and not a lot of EBD influence.

I agree. I don´t know what happens to McLaren, with full wets they are massively fast but they put the intermediates and become a dog

yep. even if it cant be really compared. it seems that he might be the best ever.
nothing to do with overreactions. we have right now the most competitive field in the history of this sport and a driver from the 4th fastest team is outracing the others. enough said.

It's not an overreaction, when there's many people who claim it or who thinks so and they're brave enough to state it publicly and be called "crazy" there must be something going on

Here's a break down of Alonso's race results from pole:

Posted Image

The only retirement was the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix. Having led the race for 12 laps Alonso entered the pits for his first stop. The front right wasn't put on correctly and bid farewell to the R29 half way round the lap. He returned to the pits on 3 tyres and left on four, only to retire a lap later with fuel pump issues.

maybe the "usual excuses" have something to do with what the reality is? I mean calling Ferrari the 4th best team is stretching the truth a bit isn't it?

Let's see...Alonso 111 points and Massa wow!!! 11 points. Of course it is the 4th best car (irony). A decent result for Massa or another better driver might have got something like 50-60 points maybe?

I think it would be more true to say that the top teams are quite close this year and Alonso is doing the best with what he has so far. But Vettel is close. And don't worry. Alonso won't win the championship in 2012 either.

If you think Alonso's performances has been average, then you would have a point, but they haven't.

I think they were not the 4th car, but the 5th or 6th when the season started. Now they are 3rd or 4th. In this track they could be even 2nd best.

Looking at the grid position since the start of the season, I would say 4th is a good call.

it doesn't really matter because the grid is so close...6-8 teams between 0,1-0,5 tenths so cars pecking order does change track to track and weather to weather. Last few races Alonso has had a very good car to drive and only couple of tenths away from the fastest cars and the fastest cars are not always the same.

Oh, please... Stop mocking Button´s comments. It was after the second round in Malaysia and, if we are all honest, it looked like this was going to be the case. After two consecutive front rows by McLaren, who could suppose that things were going to change so quickly?
