I'm not even going to watch tomorrow, no matter what happens i'll be a disaster so stuff it. I'll miss it and it'll be the first race I've missed since Spa 2005.

No need to cut off you nose. I'll still be watching, I'll be rooting and supporting Schumacher through the good and the bad.

It was still better. 29,3 was his first sector.

We wont have to watch Mercedes go backwards in the race. As they are finally Qualifying what the car is really capable of.

I just don't think Mercedes understands the meaning of car development.

Normally I'd agree 100% with you but theres only so much pain I can take.

I'll be amazed if Schumi makes it around the first couple of laps without losing wheels or his front wing but I wish him all the best and hope some miracle happens and he grabs a point or two. Perhaps we can do it if 6-8 cars in front DNF.

Expected quite a bit more from Rosberg's lap (Schumacher didn't have a clean lap).

Obviously 2013 is Mercedes' priority.

No much good for MSC. If Mercedes stay as pathetic as they are this weekend, and have been looking for the last few races. Why would he want to continue with them.

Poor qualifying from both drivers. I personally think Rosberg would have been able to make it into Q1. Didn't he do a 22.8 in S3 during Q1? (Correct me if I am wrong). I don't think the track changed very much as we progressed into Q2 and he failed to make the cut with just 2 tenths.

Schumacher never laid down a lap in Q2 on the new set of softs so we don't know if he could have been higher up. By all accounts he wouldn't have made it into Q3. I get the impression that ever since his comeback he has always felt a bit iffy in Hungary, can't seem to get good rhythm and generally feels uncomfortable here which is a surprise as some of his career highlights have come on this very course.

Optimism:
The disaster will be tomorrow if the rain forget falling regularly from 3 minutes after the start till the end!
Else it will be disappointing as usual...
Miracle if the 92th.

This is the normal outcome when you don't upgrade at all. Two races ago they beat McL, now McL is in another league??? Teams improve by 1-2 sec by race????

It looks like the highest possibility of rain tomorrow starts from mid race onwards. Starting 3pm the probability goes up until it reaches 90% at 4pm. Weather.com

Basically there is a fighting chance. But the grid positions are not helping.

It's all about the shitty tires to be hounest.
Teams don't improve 1-2 sec with an upgrade, it's about tire temp and operating windows.
The weather decides wich team will shine...

they´ll be most likely the slowest cars on track tomorrow except for the 3 new teams but I wouldn´t rule out Caterham as well :well:
Points would be a miracle unless at least 3-4 drivers retire in front of them.

If everything is normal dry race I see them 15 and 16 , so 3-4 drivers out will be not enough.

The only shitty thing here is the team. Everyone else manages the tyres somehow.

LOL not to mention Mercedes are suposedly just concentrating on tyre development haha.

I find it comical to be honest. It just shows how hopeless they are. We all knew it was coming. The writing has been on the wall past few races. Only to saved by wet Qualifyings

22.983 was it, but even with that missing tenth he would start on P12 instead P13 with another tenth behind P10. Schumachers best was just a 23.2 in this sector.

Like always huge expectations turned into a shock. Anyway I don't think we are that much off the pace. Likely a combination of things have exaggarated the speed deficit here. On the positive note it can't be worse that this so tomorrow things might brighten up a bit ;)

Thanks I stand corrected. Perhaps he could have shaved some further time off but even then making it into Q3 was a tall order.
Whichever way one looks at it Mercedes is in dire straits. Here's to hoping that the worse is now behind us and come tomorrow we can aim to improve, at least some points.

For me worst thing which can happen tommorrow is actually finishing race, lapped, only to be followed with August break. That will be hard to take without some unusually high intensity summer drinking.

Horrible performance. Just looking at that car makes me sick. To think what Michael could be achieving in a different seat.

If he decides to continue beyond this year it has to be somewhere else.

Spa is Michael 300th race. If I didn't see there heavily updated car I am through with the team. If they go there with that joke of car in his 300 GP is mockery with MS.

Methink he will finish this year, or later, but only where he is. I seriously doubt that it's as easy as taking seat sizing, jumping in some new car and driving away. It ain't going to happen.

Sadly I have to agree. It's plain to see Michael still has his talent and passion, it's just so depressing that his
last years are being wasted in this shitbox of a car.

I doubt he really stands much of a chance getting a better seat for next season.

Very depressing and such an unworthy way to end his career, due totally to the pitiful and lacklustre team performance.

I would give my right arm to see him in a competitive car next season, we know he can win, IF the team provides him
with a competitive car, what I'd give to see him spend his last season in a Red Bull, McLaren or yes.. a Ferrari again.

He spent several years with the fastest car on the grid and a team built wholly around him. Neither Michael nor anyone else has some god-given right to a competitive car. Formula 1 is about the whole package, for many years he had it, since his come back he hasn't. Tough luck, that's life.
It's to his credit that he's not as hopelessly defeatist as a lot of his so-called "fans" on here but continues to fight and give his best.

My guess is it won't happen! there will just be a poorly updated car with tears dropping comments from the management to explain that they never had the resources to re-design a car from a clean sheet of paper, a car able to run for 350 kms with a full tank of fuel and not completely destroying its tyres during the first 200kms but believe us we will have it ready for 2013 or 2014 at the latest, "cross my heart and hope to die, if I do tell a lie"!

Sorry Michael, sorry Nico! Mercedes MGP will now redirect his activities and leave F1 and concentrate on selling 1st quality "LEMONS" to the middle east.

okay I agree with most of that.

Yeah I'm defeatist but since his return I've been dreaming of 'one more win' and well.. I don't think it'll happen now.

but perhaps Hammy will blow his engine tomorrow and 10 cars go off on the oil then McLaren keep him in the pits for 2 mins. ;)

Fine. So there is a design flaw again. Well, you all know I have been naively trusting so far, but I do not wish to torture myself, and put my patience through the drill again. I hardly could make a bigger fool of myself, but still. :D I am not a masochist, and that trait is required to be a Merc fan. So I will take some time off. Cheers.

This time come. Fundamental word again. Ooh, man. It was just question of time that word to surface again. Third year.
Some of us know it beforehand. If they can't improve so long. We have again car that can't be updated/improved. Congratulation to the lucky winners.

Merc should try on better designers. Sam Bird otherwise. Why take a Lewis Hamilton when you already have a Rosberg ? Invest in a quick car first, not a competitive driver relationship

Didn't F2012 have some fundamental flaws at the beginning of the season?
If Merc are not able to design a good car then at least should try to copy from those who are. How many additional crash tests they did in-season?

Merc might do well to get rid off Schumacher this year. Get some new blood and energy in the team. This team is one of the oldest on the grid, by sheer numbers and age. Look at Schumacher, Brawn, Costa, Haug. Then look at Horner, Newey, Vettel.

After Belgium we will no doubt get the " We are shifting our focus to 2013. Then 6 races into next season they find another design problem and say the same again. :o

They should of been bringing up grades long before now. Even Sauber have been bringing regular updates to races. I think it is just embarrassing to be honest. I feel for both Rosberg and Schumacher. Both deserve better than what Mercedes have provided them for the past 2 and half seasons.
