Or Jean Alesi....

Alesi is still loved by Ferrari and Tifosi.

Alesi is probably one of the most beloved drivers from the tifosi.

Yeah, um...Jean Alesi isn't actually racing this weekend, not in a Formula 1 car anyway.

Good question is how many fans would move in because of Hamilton, and how many out and drop this team, because of Hamilton. I went actually through this with BMW (have very, very soft spot for the automaker), and moved away from the team because of dislike one of their former drivers. In fact I sold my car then because of that in protest. I am also fan of Vettel, like this team, but Hamilton's presence would be difficult to accept.

Can't imagine mess I would find myself with any other conceivable combinations like Seb at RB (with a team I am not very found off), Michael back at Ferrari and I am rooting for him as well, and Mercedes, my second love, making the very best cars once again. Decisions, decisions...

What is the situation with Michael and a grid drop? is that what you mean about pole and 6th place?

A pole here with a clean start and competitive pace would make it hard for anyone to pass the man, and Lewis would know it

FP3 will be more accurately indicative of synergy between W03 and Monza 2012.

I don't undestand. Michael's S3 time yesterday was 28.4 in FP1. Now it's 29.1 for him and 28.9 for Rosberg. Do they carry more fuel today or go backwards on quali set-up when concentrating on race set-up?

I think Mercedes have given MSC a completely broken car this weekend.

Schumacher apparantly not using his DRS either on the main straight.

Hopefully just because he is doing race runs. Anyway not to confident for qualy anymore for MSC anyway. Ros might get top 3.

Without KERS or DRS Schumacher;s time is pretty good.

Schumacher made his best lap in the last lap of 7-8-lap run and only 0,5s slower than Rosberg. I think there is hope in the horizon.

Rosberg is not far away from the leaders either. Mercedes might be playing in the big picture, perhaps. Let's wait till Quali.

Exactly.

But whats worrying is Rosberg's pace. He has everything working, DRS - KERS, but with his Medium tires he is off nearly half a second from Hamilton on Hards.

This team are a bunch of incompetent clowns!!!!

FP2 - no DRS
FP3 - no KERS

Any guess for the race? DRS, KERS, Gearbox?

What a joke Merc..

Everything will be fine and ready to go for qualy, just getting all the bugs out now. I'd much rather these problems happen in practice than in qualy or the race.

It's getting harder and harder. Things could go wrong once. Twice, red flag goes up and things get fixed to its roots as they should have been in first incident. What we see here is hard to comprehend; it's F1, FFS. In automotive a supplier of parts with this kind of record would be placed on a black list.

Front row for a Mercedes if they don't lose KERS or DRS. I think Schumacher has it in him this weekend, maybe not enough for pole. But front row I would - error free - be expecting.

Very optimistic, but I think that Michael has it in him for quite a while, whereas his car, unfortunately, is always suspect.

Sounds a little ambitious. I think they should be aiming for a top 5 spot.

Top 5 max. 2x Macca, 2x Ferrari are faster. Renault, Sauber and FI don't look too bad either.

I bet on a 3rd row for Mercedes, instead, and this as the very best they can achieve. You have so much trust in this little car/team :o :p

haha judging by these replies I am too optimistic. I'm going to sick with it. I'm immune to the disappointment now, so I have nothing to lose!

I'd be happy to be in the top 5. But I stick by my original statement, I think.

The "triple" DRS system will be tested in Magny Cours by Sam Bird and if the results are positive, they┬┤ll race it.
The issues with the rear wing were solved over night.

I do not understand this obsession with DRS (passive, active, double, tripple). How about making car reliable, and one which can co-exist with tires first. (Or do we have it and I miss that)?

Mercedes need to go for a planned 2 stop that way they don't loose any un planned time. I really cant see the tyres lasting on the car so they might as well plan the 2 stop this time.

I think that's why they saved one set of new mediums.
