Temporary replacement Natalie already seems better than Natalie is usually.

I'll start off then. She was not very good. Mumbling and talking too fast. But I guess I'll let her speak more than once before I dig at her... I guess.

I think so too. Although Lee McKenzie seems the best, just down to her relationship with drivers.

I think Natlie is getting married this weekend, maybe that's why she's absent.

Ah.

Taste thing isn't it; I find Lee a bit mumsie personally, Natalie more action girl. Loved Natalie's donuts in the Caterham, one arm up :smoking:

Yeh, I prefer Natalie's style (Lee does a fantastic job though) I just think Lee has a better relationship with the drivers so she gets a bit extra from them.

Sky just confirmed Natalie is getting married this weekend and Georgie is her bridesmaid hence her absence until Sunday.

It's abit strange having no coverage on the Beeb, the live text feed is good on their site though.

It should if you have Sky/Virgin.

Yeah, but I switch over and it is the same blue screen that it is normally.

Rebooting is your best bet, let us know if it worked. That's what you have to do when a new channel comes through if you were to be paying for it, so I expect the same here.

Sorry for asking question that was probably answered before, but my search was not lucky...

Sky TV: do they have something like bbc's iplayer where I could watch today's free practice sessions?

Thanks in advance

They have Sky Go, but it only shows highlights, not full sessions.

No, it's got the 'anytime' feature, which includes on it race highlights.

I know about Highlights. I am looking for full sessions. I know, I know... "who would want to see a not live entire free practice?" you may ask :-) I gues I am weird...

Thanks for the help anyway.

cheers

No, I'm with you it would make sense to have whole sessions in case paying customers are unable to watch live. I don't understand why they don't offer to show the whole thing on anytime though, sorry.

When I checked the SkyF1 schedule earlier today the practice sessions were repeated - since I watched them at the time I didn't take much notice of the repeated times but they were evening slots.

I don't get why people need to watch practice. How did you cope when it wasn't shown?

It's nice to watch a bit extra when you're waiting for the F1 weekend. I don't take it as seriously as Q or the Race, which I sit down specifically to watch... I'd rather have some F1 than no F1 on a Friday.

I only got the free Sky sports message ( inc F1) from my Virgin media box when I switched the TV on for the BBC 10pm news - so perhaps the free message takes a bit of time depending on where you live :)

Maybe. Interesting.
Anyways, there are other methods available to me, thankfully to watch the race.

I hardly remember how I coped, as I had free practices available on TV where I live since 1999 :p

Because practice is part of the competitive development of a weekend. Actions in testing have a real and measurable effect over the weekend. And that's quite interesting.

The number of ex drivers on sky is a real advantage as they all know what they're talking about and simon seems to get on with them so they can make up for his slight akwardness. Jonny Herbet is a fantastic presenter in my opinion and has such a great way with people and seems like a genuinely nice bloke.

He can be serious and very charming and friendly and is just so laid back, i really like him, i think he is the star of the programme.

I do actually watch it as well if I'm not out or at work to be honest.

sky is your only option to watch live, channel 408 (HD channel with sky). Highlights will be shown on bbc. I would try to watch both if you can, both offer a different perspective. The highlights arent too bad even if u miss the sky and you can also catch on radio 5 live.

Unless you can get Sky somewhere then you'll have to watch highlights on BBC 1. Which isn't on till 5 pm today and 5.30 pm tomorrow. Bit rubbish really.

Thanks for the replies btw. I suppose I'll wait for the highlights on BBC then. :well:

Find Herbert a bit annoying. Clearly doesn't have the same chemistry that Mcnish has with Crofty.

Would like to see and hear Kravitz more than Hill and Herbert.

I would say Fearne Cotton edges it, by some considerable margin, Lazenby is abysmal.

The HD quality is superb too. I don't care too much about the build-up, though.

Enjoying being able to watch GP2/GP3 after the race. JH seems good, Damon seems OK, Simon is still awkward. If the BBC could get another Ted to join their post race coverage I think their analysis would be far superior than with just EJ and DC. Having listened to the commentary in quali - to my shock I think the BBCs commentary is much more to my taste. We'll see what the post race coverage is like for Sky tomorrow! I find the Sky coverage very impersonal, I'm finding it very hard to warm to any of the presenters. As soon as the BBC get some quali coverage up I'll be watching that!

Personally i'm more of BBC build up > Sky during race > mainly BBC post race but hop to Sky when EJ comes on my screen!
