Not like it's going places anyway ....

As opposed to Sky having more content but broadcasting to barely 20% of the viewership?

If the BBC weren't covering the sport, its popularity in the UK would be comparable to NFL on channel five no thanks to an exclusive satellite service.

I think that's what I like about her. She's a real woman and not a skinny bimbo your average shallow virgin with expectations far above his station would fancy. She is very knowledgeable about the sport and does a good job of presenting. An excellent choice.

The two aren't mutually inclusive you know.

In regards to Lee she does well interviewing drivers, but when put in front of a camera I find her wooden, uncharismatic and boring.

I didn't suggest they were. I simply offered a phrase using the two words.

I have no problem with that standpoint, am I allowed to have a different view on that?

Well...nice choice ;)

I was just offering my own point of view, have whatever you want

It's clearly got to be a previous CBBC presenter.

So, Andy Crane or Toby Anstis?

Gordon the Gopher? :cat:

The one and only Andi Peters and whats Kris Akubussi (sp) doing now a days?

He's a celebrity motivational speaker.

I know from an insider that the new F1 channel is proving to be quite a strain on Sky Sports' budget, belts have been tightened across all of the sports they cover.

Interesting that the playground spats over JH have resulted in this being completely ignored.
If true then how long before Sky start inserting adverts during the action?

Can't be too bad, Sky have just extended their deal with the NFL.

I doubt the F1 channel is the problem; probably moreso the amount per match they pay for English premier league rights- £6.5m. That's more likely to bury them than £25m for the annual rights to cover F1.

I agree with this. Very good at interviews, but no doubts with our high standards, we would be complaining about her soon enough.

Like Jake or not, he did a good job at 'chairing' the discussion, making sure they discussed what needs to be discussed etc. like when EJ sounds like he is starting to waffle about random things, he just calmly went, 'well what about .....'

I liked that, and this is what sky are missing IMO, as their pundits give out some completely generic 'cool story bro' type comments.

I wonder who the BBC will get though. It will be a tough choice. Jake did his job better than some may think. Maybe they can try and snap Martin off Sky, but that is unlikely.

I've just had my latest monthly bill for Sky and its £33.25. I will be phoning Sky on 26th October and giving my months' notice to ditch the HD. Whether I take it on again next March will be decided on what the BBC do next year (I might be prepared to suffer just half races) and what Sky's position on race ads is.

Highly unlikely given that they will be paying £760m per year for the Premier League soon, or to put it another way £2.3 billion over 3 years.

Yeah don't judge people by the way they look, and then judging 'skinny bimbos' as not 'real'. I'd love to know what a 'real woman' actually was. Your hypocrisy is divine.

I wasn't the person who judged Lee in the first place by suggesting she got rid of her 'bingo wings', or did you miss that because the other person is pro Sky? Your last sentence suits your post rather better than mine.;)

They pay £6.5 million per premiership match!! I know i'm not a fan of football but how the hell have they managed to price it that high. It's 22 men kicking a bloody ball for 90 minutes.

That's £72,000 per minute!

This thread has been an interesting insight into tifosiMac's world.

"happily married"
"i prefer 'real women"

My conclusion (and mine alone) = Regrets getting married now that wifey has started piling on the pounds.....

Thanks for the info! After watching every race this year over the internet it'll be great to finally see a race with a super clear picture and no jumpiness.

I really think Simon has grown into his role at Sky F1, he's comfortable with the teams and clearly knows a lot more about the sport than he did coming in to it.

I agree with Simon, it will be great to see Ferando win a third championship 'something that Ayrton Senna or Jackie Stewart didn't manage'.

Yeah, then he makes a complete arse of himself by saying "Alonso could be three time world champion, something that neither Stewart nor Senna did."

With all the people talking up Georgie to take Simons role on Sky - I actually thought Natalie did very well hosting the P3 show.

He actually said Vettel to win 3 in a row, somethign which Senna and Stewart didn't manager. Martin misunderstood it for Alonso. This coming from someone who does not like Simon Lazenby.

Vettel was never mentioned, maybe that is what he meant but that is not what he said. Had he have said Vettel as opposed to Alonso, he would have of course been correct.
