Greetings,
I am forever grateful to TNF members who helped with my captions on the historic motor racing section of my web site. I've now rewritten the whole lot with a mobile-friendly version: it took a long time...

Included are some (originals are stereo black and white glass positive pairs) photographs from the 1905 French Gordon Bennett Trials, and my own pictures from 1964 to 1972, with a few from 2008.

It was a while ago, but some of you might enjoy them again (or even for the first time).

They are here, in the new mobile-friendly version and here in the original form.

Thanks to Rob G for pointing out my failure to get my links right (they should work now).

Brian, the links aren't working. They're pointing to an Autosport forum index instead of your site.

What on earth is number 92 in the Gordon Benett trials?

It's 22 I think - Maurice Bernin's Renault AK (as captioned).

Brian,
Thanks very much for sharing these with us, especially the 1965 RAC TT at Oulton Park. That was the first major race that I'd been to; I'm probably in some of the crowd shots on the outside of Old Hall.

Alan.

Thank you for sharing these. Lots of wonderful shots there! I do have a few name corrections for you: Derek Bell, Emerson Fittipaldi, Richie Ginther, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Jochen Mass, and Arturo Merzario.

Brian, Just a couple of corrections:

1) Brabahm Brabham-Repco BT26, Rindt 1968 Oulton Park Gold Cup - the car behind BRABHAM is the 49B of Jack Oliver as Rindt was Brabham's Team Mate.

2) It is Richard Robarts not Jason Robarts!

Some fantastic images well worth the time to run through them all - well the motorsport ones!

I think the "Maserati 250F" is an A6GCM from 1952-53
