I'm Paddock marshalling for the VSCC Sprint on the Mercedes Benz handling course on the Saturday.
I'll be wearing my new flat 'at and neatly trimmed beard for the occasion. Come and say hello.

Some happy snaps from today.
The day got off to a good start when I was greeted by the line-up of Shelsley Nashes - particularly poignant for me as my Great Uncle owned CMH 500 (the ex-Fane car) in the '50s and 60s.
I believe he was responsible for reuniting it with its proper engine. He always said it was very bad at obeying speed limits - that meaty Centric blower may have been partly to blame.
As usual, the Sprint tempted out some unusual specimens. This is Ian Baxter's MG Bellevue Special, which probably wishes all corners turned right.
Paul Compton's Wolseley Aerees Special was quite, shall we say, distinctive.
Whereas Neil Twyman's Alfa 8C could easily lead me into the sin of covetousness.
Interesting that 3-wheelers like Sue Darbyshire's Morgan Super Aero needed a subtle adjustment in the deployment of the High-Tech Anti-Rollback Device
Mac Hulbert wasn't hanging about in R4D
And Terry Crabb also looked quick in the smaller-engined R12C
The Grand Prix Delage came out to play with the Napier-Railton, even though it wasn't feeling 100%.
Elsewhere, I noticed that Brooklands has the first part of a Lancaster kit, though it looks to be a 'suit enthusiast' type of restoration.
And TNFer Stephen Lee was navigating his handsome Alvis Speed 20 through the driving tests - not the easiest car for the task.
All in all, an enjoyable day with good company and a pleasant atmosphere, despite the gale-force wind - but at least it kept the rain away.

Thanks for the pic Tony, Mrs mgtd looks terrified as usual.
Algernon Alvis performed better than his driver but at least no straw bales were destroyed this year; at least by yours truly.

Many thanks, Richard. Stephen wasn't quite at opposite-lock velocity but coped well with what looks to be an awful lot of elegant Alvis bodywork for such pursuits (much of it probably invisible from the driving seat). No doubt he could be persuaded to give chapter and verse on the challenges!
