I never realised that the V8 Guzzi was so small.

Great photos of a little reported event.

Although the motorcycle element is very well supported by entrants, who are put together with the help of Stuart Graham, Charlie Williams and Tommy Robb, it is far more widely promoted and reported in the car press. The motorcyclists are really appreciated by the car fans who turn up and they all do a great PR job. Fastest time, and a new course record, was set by Andy Mitchell on a Husaberg FS650, the first time in the five years of the event that a motorcycle has beaten a car. A couple of years ago, Tom Sykes turned up with his Kawasaki and played to the crowd before he realised that a Breitling watch was on offer for the fastest time of day; on his last run (which was his only serious attempt) he missed out by a fraction of a second.
It has become a standing joke that if it is Pageant of Power weekend, pack your waterproofs, and this year was no exception, with varying degrees of rainfall on Friday and Saturday. However, Sunday turned out to be a pretty good day weatherwise.
