Please rate the race, and not how your favourite driver did! ;)

Best Drive
Fernando Alonso. Even before the Vettel problem he pulled off a huge amount of clean overtakes, and an absolutely fantastic start. Alonso must be favourite for the WDC after this

Grosjean unfortunately with another DNF, but after all the first lap incidents he has had so far, that dive down the inside of Maldonado was bravery on another level, his self confidence is a huge asset. Denied a possible win (yet still smiling)

Worst Drive
It's hard to point to Jenson Button as it seems that the car seems to be the problem rather than him

Therefore I think that Bruno Senna may deserve this award. Again a bad weekend started off from qualifying, ending with a chop on Kobayashi. The highlight of his weekend being catching a wingless Williams spin pretty much sums this race up.

Best Overtake
Way too many to choose from, but Fernando Alonso's start was brilliant.

Best Moment
Vettel dropping out of the race takes the biscuit but the entire race was a highlight reel.

DRS and Tyres
DRS was good, just long enough to make the overtake possible but not a certainty

The tyres were brilliant, with a range of strategies from 1-stop to 3-stop being taken. Pirelli has turned Valencia into a race rather than an extended qualifying session.

What are your thoughts?

I was pleasantly surprised with that race today.

All through the field there was excellent racing going on.

9/10 for me.

8.5! Best race of the season, and on the worst circuit. Bodes well for the season.

-1 for the loss of Grosjean and battle for the lead.

-0.5 for the hopeless stewarding.

7. Would've been higher but for Vettel driving into the distance so no real battle for the lead until after the SC, because Vettel retired and because Grosjean retired. Had those last 2 things in particular not happened then I would've probably rated it a bit higher.

Clear 10, includes weighting for actually managing to be a watchable race at Valencia.

Probably an 8.5/9 without anyway. Shame for Ricciardo, but still a great race.

7. It was alright for the first half then the safety car and retirements of Vettel and Grosjean really opened it up. Last 20 odd laps were very good.

A 10 because Alonso won but the race was a solid 9, specially if we take into account that this race was expected to be below ****.

Yep it's strange how having deserving leaders go out makes the race so interesting for fans! The loss of unreliability in F1 has probably made the very rare failures these days even more exciting..

10, though disappointing for Vettel, Grosjean and Hamilton. (saying that I doubt it would have been such a great race if Vettel's car didn't give up on him).

Agreed, having said that Spa will probably be a procession!

Singapore has even more overtaking possibility than Valencia so that should be a cracker too. Funny how all the Pirelli haters always disappear after races like this. It may not be "pure" racing but it sure as hell shows how talented Alonso really is wheel-to-wheel, and is as entertaining as any motor racing in the World (in my opinion)

 Have to agree. It felt like i was watching a Grandprix from 5 or 6 years ago today.

Overtakes when i was not expecting any helped, I admit failures and crashes sometimes do help to keep the entertainment going.

Fantastic race. Best since Malaysia.

Easily the best drivers of the last decade, and one who is his 3rd decade. This podium was ultra cool for ferrari for many reasons, a great race for Schumacher to make a return to the center stage. I would like to see Kimi win, but because it's spain especially and Alonso driving, it's my favorite drive of his, Kimi will have his chance again I'm sure. I like Kimi, Alonso and Schumacher on the podium, Kimi and Alonso are much more the vetrans, as they entered the scene before Hamilton/Vettel. This podium showcases the passage of time, in many ways this is a early to mid 2000s era comeback. It's good Kimi came back this year.

A great valencia gp which no one was expecting,
The best valencia gp
Perhaps the best podium for a long time
A legend proving his points again.
Ferrari president happy with his current star and seeing his history on the podium.

10 out of 10

What else could you have expected for Valencia?

Beyond expectations, great race and result. Valencia to have one race to remember makes it's inception justified. :smoking:

Wasnt looking forward to the legendary Valencia borefest, and completely totally forgot the race was on.

Totally forgot.
Woke up, lying in bed and wondered "did I just miss a race???"

Although the driver that i support did reasonable well (MSC) i still don't like the tire's great influence on races.

Overall the race was relatively entertaining compared to valencia's previous races.

What a race! 10/10. Easily an all time favorite. Lots of passing, different strategies, a bit of controversy, dramatic finishing laps and enthusiastic fans. And the podium having the home town favorite win with Raikkonen and Schumacher there, all Ferrari alum and all world champs was excellent.

It was pretty decent, and a, for me personally, fantastic result. There were some good moves, some nice drama and an impressive first half of the race by Vettel. Still, I didn't like the inept deployment of the (too long) Safety Car that failed to catch the leader in T1, the ridiculously dangerous situation with the marshals on track - I think for Vettel's car - with the drivers just blasting along at very high speeds, the silliness of the track that allowed multiple trains to form - none greater than Michael Schumacher apparently holding up half the field at one point, and the amount of silly collisions by a number of drivers was out of place in F1 as well.

7/10 for me.

I gave it an 8.

Maldonado, and the first half of the race where it looked like Vettel would cruise away prevent a 9 or 10, but still an exciting race with lots of action.

Very entertaining, mostly due to crashes. DRS didn't feel too intrusive, there seemed to be plenty of action away from the DRS zone which was fun. The tyres felt tactical rather than gimmicky to me, some drivers were making them last much better than others. I'm still not convinced that drivers are always master of their own destiny with these tyres though...

The SC really made the race, without it it could have ended up being quite dull. Worked out very nicely for Nando, as safety cars oft do ;) (Alonso was supreme today, loved his drive)

10 out of 10 for the race, it was epic. 1 out of 10 for the Autosport servers though.
