Sergio Pininfarina passed away last night in Turin. He was 85.

Sad news.
He was a member of the Italian Parliament as a "Senator for life" (honors that only six people have).

RIP - possibly the greatest designer/coachbuilder of the postwar years.

Indeed. The 250F Spyder in the original Pink Panther film is an excellent example of elegant line and proportion. Don't find that today in any Ferrari product.

Designed many wonderful cars - and not necessarily at the top end of the affordability scale - ie - Fiat 124 Sport.
