Over the last couple of months I have been attending meetings of the Avenue Drivers Club at Queens Square in Bristol where members of the club and public are encouraged to exercise a variety of classic and vintage vehicles. The gatherings are free and make a cheap morning out.

Among the vehicles seen yesterday were :-

Posted Image

This UAZ on Polish plates wondering if any one knows how to spot the difference between a pre 1985 UAZ 469 or a post '85 UAZ 31512 or even if I have got the model numbers completely wrong ?

Posted Image

The metal work on this 1921 Vauxhall 20/60 returned to the UK from 50 years in the colonies in good shape but the body work frame was completely munched away by termites !

Posted Image

I had not realised until just now that prior to producing Elva's and McLaren's under licence and manufacturing their own F5000 and F1 cars Trojan built T200 Bubble Cars under licence from Heinkel.

Posted Image

Offered for sale for £1k was this 1974 registered Victor, I have the mob number if anyone wants it, usual disclaimers apply.

Posted Image

Finally I did not get the opportunity to speak to the owner of this Sunbeam reg WM 188,

Posted Image

DVLA and HPI records tell us its a 1929 model with a three litre engine and as can be seen it is a twin cam six.

Posted Image

I'd be greatful if anybody has any info to share on it like the model 20 hp or 35 hp (?) and or possible competition history ?

Relevant answers to any of the above questions may be credited and used in a forthcoming blog.

Thanking you in anticipation of your responses.

Pressing engagements elsewhere not withstanding I shall probably make a habit of nipping down the road on the second Sunday in the coming months if any TNFers are planning on being there and would like to meet up leave a message on this thread.

Sounds like fun. Let's hope that it goes from strength to strength.
I have the luxury of being close to the Ace Cafe and am a regular at their Classic Cars night on the 2nd Tuesday (evening) of every month. So I'll be there again in the Frogeye tomorrow.

A timely reminder that should anyone with an interest in all things motoring find them selves at a loose end near Bristol on Sunday morning the Avenue Drivers Club should be meeting at Queens Square around 9 am.

Being pedantic, it is Queen Square not Queens. I only know because my daughter lives nearby in Redcliff (without an "e") Street.

Hi Ted,

I'm doing the Kimber Trial on Sunday, so unless anyone turns up at Queen Road before 8:30, I'm going to have to give it a miss :|

Among the rarities at Septembers Avenue Drivers Club meeting this matching numbers 1934 Crossley 2 litre sports saloon the only one of the 25 built thought to be still on the road.

Despite my absence I can't recommend a Sunday Morning at Queen Square Bristol for an Avenue Drivers Club meeting highly enough.

The planned production car trial got cancelled late on Saturday evening last month due to flooding so I made it to Octobers meeting after all, more pics here.

Days are flying by faster than ever this year, on Sunday I popped down to the monthly Avenue Driver Club meeting where I spotted this Austin Healey reg YRF 223 C with a fixed fast back roof.

Does not look like your regular Ashley GT or Fastback does anyone recognise who might have supplied the roof.

Thanking you in anticipation of your responses.

I believe it's a Lenham Le Mans Coupe body, the car residing in Bristol.

Thanks to "fryth" for identifying the Lenham Le Mans Healey which appears in today's GALPOT post.

Please spare a thought for Alan Spencer, seen standing next to his Parsons above, who is recovering from a major unexpected surgery in Bristol this evening.

Thanks.
