Hello all,

In terry mcgrath's "Early 1950s UK racing pics on eBay" thread
http://forums.autosp...howtopic=170580 I posted a request about the following lot recently
offered on eBay that needs to be identified. JMH and Leigh Trevail came up with some very interesting replies.
It has been suggested to me that I start a new thread here on the subject - so here it is.

17 ORIGINAL 35mm NEGS of UNKNOWN OFF ROAD CAR TRIALS [muddy] c1950's.

The number 60 car GPB250 is a 1937 H.R.G, ex- Ken Baillie Hill, Jack (John) Newton and J Martin-Lewis, currently
owned by my brother Lars who, BTW, bought this roll of negatives.

The conclusion from terry's thread is that the pictures where taken at the Hale Acre Wood hill during 1938 or 1939.

I spent some time googling for various combinations of Hale Acre Wood, HRG, pre-war hill climb and so on,
but without any direct hits. It seems to be a "hard case"?

Any further information on this/these events would be much appreciated.

Kindest regards
Anders

If anyone has access to the late Donald Cowbourne's work on pre-war British Trial Drivers 1929 to 1939, that is the most likely place that you will find the answer.
