Some people call this a travesty. Others welcome it. What's your opinion? I don't care.

Let's give the Grand-Am race some appreciation too. Apparently it's featuring an old open-wheeler who disappeared off the face of the earth halfway through 2006. Anyone fancy a bet on which race takes longer to complete?

It's a travesty but for me personally, it's not because I hold IMS to a higher standing. They could run ARCA on the circuit and I wouldn't care. Rather, it's becuase ORP was a great track for the NW series and Trucks. I'm 99 percent sure that ORP would have been the better show than what we are going to see on Saturday (and probably Sunday too), likely by a long shot.Yes, it's true. Unlike in recent years, where the lower series were relegated to O'Reilly Raceway Park across town, BOTH the Cup boys and the Nationwide non-gender-specific-pronouns race on the historic rectangular track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Hopefully, Trucks return to ORP next year

He never seems to make many friends at the Grand-Am races. It will be interesting. It's a shame they're not at O'Reilly Raceway Park anymore because then you could've called it the O'Fficial thread.

Im hopefull that I should be able to watch it this weekend. I have been on a diet so long that my mind is already asking «what bes racing?». The adiction must be restored.
A few things to look out for:
- The White Shark, will the white line claim stock cars the same way as it claimed batmobiles back in May?
- Is the GoDaddy driver plotting revenge?
- Will Jeff Gordon finally break his jinx?

The last person who ordered Jacques Villeneuve to get a haircuit was Max Mosley, and look what happened to him... Penske's shrewder than that.
For this reason I call BS on your rumour-mongering

Is AJ the only contestant or will Lindsay Lohan be in it? Will he make it on fuel, stay off the grass, blow his pipe, drain battery acid? Will he be told to stay high? Looks like fun.
Ok, back to porn.

Interesting that there is no on-track activity today.
There is some on-track activity, but it's on the road course (Grand-Am and Conti Tire Series).

NASCAR needs the apron at Indy more than even Indycars.NASCAR race at Indy lost its luster big time. Last good race was around 98.

I agree the apron would be a significant improvement. Don't know if it would be enough though

True but the Corvette DP isn't to bad.And still far and away the most mind blowingly ugliest prototypes on this planet or any other.

What makes sportscar racing utterly boring is that it's all about the cars, and while sophisticated, those aren't ground-breaking cars anymore. The problem with fixing it like NASCAR does is that it becomes about nothing at all.And still far and away the most mind blowingly ugliest prototypes on this planet or any other.

Zackly. And where the car preparation work does come into it (who believes each engine really does exactly 500bhp?), it's all very cloak and dagger and the stories of interest are suppressed.
