Also from the article:

Ducati team boss Livio Suppo has been supportive of Stoner and has dismissed the speculation as nonsense.

Man, I wouldn't be unhappy to see Cal at Tech 3 for a while. He could get his shot at a factory ride one day if he's patient and keeps competitive. He may not always bring in the top results race-in, race-out, but he's always relevant and exciting. You dont get many people nowadays coming from World Supersport and thinking they're gonna be a relevant rider in MotoGP. I really like how he's earned his way even through the likes of the other top British riders in the British and World SBK/SS series. He's talented. If he can mature a bit, he might possibly be the best of the non-aliens.

Livio has always been a Stoner Ally. Supposedly had a lot to do with him following him to Honda.

Didn't Cal already have a chance to sign for Ducati earlier this year? If so, has that offer been taken off the table now?
Surely Herve will snap him back up again if that's the case? Surely he wont be without a ride?

Dovizioso seems to have done the factory-ride-or-bust push, and that not working out, I'm guessing he's now the rider at Ducati alongside Hayden.

Cal stays at Tech 3 alongside Bradley Smith.

And Ben Spies unceremoniously exits the sport he was destined to do so well in.....(WTF happened, for real?)

Casey Stoner left Ducati because of the lack of support he received from them when he fell ill

ultimately he left because the bike had lost performance

So we're done discussing this...?

He says it's a bunch of quotes collected over the past 1.5 years and taken out of context.

Also, in my opinion, his comments on the level of Moto2 riders in that other article were vindicated by what Bradl said at the press conference yesterday.

MODERATOR: And you said about the last eight races pushing towards the podium, it is hard, isn't it? They call them the aliens, don't they, those three. To get in amongst them is going to be very, very difficult.

BRADL: Yes. I mean, they are doing especially in the race every single lap they are quite close to the limit and so precise. This is the biggest difference to what I know from Moto2. Sure the competition is high, but these guys pushing theirselves so fast and so hard. Yeah, this is what I still need to improve, but I think I'm on a good way to do that.

After reading Stoner's comments about Rossi & Ducati I briefly wondered if it's worth Ducati making a huge bid to talk Stoner into coming back.

I thought Herve said Smith wont be on his Motogp bikes next year?
I think he may grab De Puniet to ride alongside Cal.
Smith just is not ready to step up to Motogp & I think Herve knows it.
He isn't old so what's the rush? He needs to earn the seat first.

Smith has a contract to ride a Tech 3 Yamaha M1 (not even a CRT) next year.

Contracts can be broken. I'd imagine Smith's has a clause in it saying that if Tech 3 feel he is not performing well enough in Moto2, then they don't have to put him on a Motogp bike.

Nope. Smith said he'll either be on a Yamaha M1 or he'll be an extremely rich man. Those are the only two options.

Not a chance.

Anyway I don't know where you read that Poncharal may not give Smith a chance in MotoGP, because he's actually ready to have 2 rookies next year if Crutchlow & Dovi were to leave, probably with Espargaro along side Smith : http://www.motorcycl...n-dovi-and-cal/

I didn't say that, that was another poster. But I don't really rate Smith at all. Plus I couldn't stand having to put up with more nationalistic commentary from the BBC and Eurosport.

I especially hate it when the Eurosport commentators insist onj calling him 'Bradders' all the time. Yuck.

Enough silliness! The Indianapolis race weekend has started. Kent, Miller and Jonas Folger on top of the Moto3 timesheets, in what appears to have been a green or slightly damp track. I'd totally missed the news that Folger's riding a Kalex KTM now, but it's very welcome. Great to see his miserable half-season hasn't slowed him up at all.

MotoGP practice was briefly red-flagged after a highside from Hector Barbera. Not a good first session back. :well:

He ended up 10th fastest and 1.8 seconds off the pace though, which is not a bad effort.

We'll probably see Elias in FP2. From Motomatters:

Hector Barbera was less fortunate, suffering a big highside at Turn 16, and being taken to the medical center. From there, he was shipped to a local hospital for suspected injuries to his vertebrae, a repeat of an injury he suffered at Motegi last year. The leg he broke at Mugello - less than five weeks ago - was fine.

The marshals picked him up by his shoulders and ankles to put him on the stretcher rather than rolling him which seemed a little odd to me.

Steve Rapp put in a decent time, beating a couple of regulars. Everyone that didn't test this week will improve throughout the weekend, though.

Livio Suppo left Ducati at the end of the year to join Honda after being at Ducati for 11 years

http://www.aphhaltan...cati-corse-hrc/livio suppo leaves ducati

Interesting they were already running the story about Rossi joining Ducati for 2011, but hey what do they know.

Also where would this leave Stoner or did they know Stoner was already going to leave at the end of his contract?

So we're done discussing this...?

I don't have any medical training but that pic just looks wrong. In fact it looks like they have no medical training either.

And they were wearing "Medical" vests. :well:

Simoncelli was beyond help but I do recall Dorna saying that they'd taken some lessons away from his handling afterwards. Perhaps not.

Tomizawa likewise was badly handled, regardless of survivability of the crash. It's becoming a worrying trend.

I think the majority of random people on the street would know not to move an injured person in this way...Never-mind medical personnel at a world class sporting event. This has happened way to often in MotoGP/Moto2/3 in recent years...

I think he has the right to be bitter towards Rossi and understand the need to gloat. It would be admirable if he didn't, bit human to do.

The problem is that expressing what he thinks tends to show all his bitterness, his chip on his shoulder and his constant bad-mouthing and moaning. The only people who want to hear that stuff are Stoner fans and anti's of the people he's bad-mouthing. He comes off as a grumpy, cynical old man.

That is disgraceful and there is no excuse whatsoever. In any other event be it a surf carnival or even a local club football game they stop everything and nobody moves anyone who could possibly be suffering a neck or back injury until the stretcher and medical staff are there. What makes this worse is that its a motorsport event where the probability of this thing happening and happening in a bad way are reasonably high so they should be doubly sure about procedure. Its ridiculous.

MotoGP doesn't have traveling marshals do they? I mean you'd have to assume that IMS wouldn't put people out there if they didn't know what they were doing. They have been at it for 103 years after all.

But yea, anyone with basic first aid training should know not to do that.

Spies devolping the Suzuki next year for full time in 2014, I believe thats what most of us would assume was going to happen anyways.

Huge highside for Hector Faubel, landed right on his ass. Holding his hip/pelvis and I wouldn't be shocked if he broke one of those things.

The team's press speaker just told on Spanish TV that he's been taken to hospital as a precautionary measurement to get a TAC (CAT in English? ) done. He's complaining of abdominal pain.

Ah, perhaps the pit lane guy from the world feed was a little premature or got a bad translation. When my friend broke his pelvis he was complaining of pain around his stomach so... :(

Alex Marquez crashed 3 times in the session. Twice in the final corner.
