*** Yes, because last season was very balanced... (LoL)

Twins won 15, the fours 11 races last year. Thats hardly a domination. And Biaggi missed 6 races too. It looks to me that Melandri, Biaggi, Laverty and Rea were too inconsistent to beat Checa to win the WC.

As i said before the 1098/1198 is just a great great bike. It should have won a lot more championships had it not been for Ducati hiring Haga and wasting two years in which they should have won. Had Bayliss gone on instead of stopping he would have won a lot more im sure of that.

This year they gave the Ducati way too much restrictions for such a "old" bike.

I like the Yam livery.

Also I think Spies is a pretty good driver, but seems to not be getting along with his team. I think he will do well on the Ducati.

Honda UK's Samsung livery has to be the blandest, least inspiring paintjob I've seen on a frontrunning bike in a while. My eye almost refuses to register them as something worth looking at, which is a great disservice to Michael Laverty and his crew. Although really the magnificent SMR Swan bikes have been putting everyone else to shame for years now.

Although I feel sorry for Spies being "forced" to languish at Ducati it will be interesting to see how the soon former factory Yamaha rider will fare against the soon former Yamah satellite rider, where Dovi will be the factory rider and Spies the satellite rider.

I rate Spies higher than Dovi despite this year indicating otherwise.

Actually, in the flesh, the Samsung Hondas are a fantastic shade of blue.

I always thought that the Swan Yams look like they've been designed by a Rastafarian, not that that's entirely a bad thing of course! :smoking:

I was going to note that I could be wrong and I haven't actually been able to go down and watch them in the flesh this year, but I thought that would sound too pity-me-pity-me. ;) Still miss the HM Plant branding, though.

Not a bad thing at all! :smoking: I like the pink highlights on Alex Lowes's WFR Honda, too.

Iannone just waved his hand at someone tooling around on the racing line and then promptly highsided. Brilliant!

Ben's having a much better year than Marco M had as teammate to Stoner - didn't mean his talent had disappeared overnight. Wouldn't be surprised if he is top Ducati next year.

Shh, I think it's a brilliant livery. If we can't be ill-advisedly garish on a support class racebike in Italy, then nowhere is safe. Plus it's a good weekend for it, after Iannone's announcement that he'll be stepping up next season.

Touche. I think CIV may actually have a rule requiring a certain amount of neon color on you and your bike.

I wonder how that happened anyway. Did Italy cause the neon craze of the 80s and 90s and then continue it on? Or is Valentino to blame for Italy's continued obsession?

Fentati running a totally red helmet rather than his usual white. Tribute to Marco?

Didn't the Rumi WSBK team in the late '80s early '90s have a taste for neon purple? The team that Fred Merkel rode for. Or am I confusing it with other Italians?

As a lapsed anime fan my #1 favourite tie-in is this Neon Genesis Evangelion bike from the Suzuka 8 Hours. Complete with, er, cosplaying umbrella girl.

oot...
I assume to get the best out of that bike the rider got to be emo.... and it probably could only run for 4 minutes without being attached to a power source (of course the bike can go berserk and run well beyond a couple of minutes). and it would eventually be revealed that the bike is actually his mother.

back on topic...
thrilling last minutes of qualifying. I hope Pedrosa will win so it would go down to the wire.
I also got a glimpse of that step up bike. The colors looks a bit muted... not as neony as I hoped for.

Very impressive from Rea. The consensus in the Eurosport booth was that within 2s of Pedrosa would be encouraging given the circumstances. One and a half seconds off the pace isn't going to get much TV time but it's a strong claim for the open Gresini bike next year.

Speaking of claims on Honda's attention, surely Bradl's got to be on a works-satellite bike next year? Incredibly promising debut season for a rider doing things the newfangled old-fashioned Rookie Rule way.

 Hopefully the run at Aragon was a (successful) tryout. Ducati has already followed Yamaha's "B Team" model, perhaps Honda needs to as well if they're to remain at the top.

Should be an interesting warm up today. Nobody is 100% certain which tire they're going to use and Rossi may still have a bit more left in the bike than the rest, could be a season best result for him if they can find it.

This is not good. Red flag for Moto2 warm up and the world feed is not naming the rider or showing the replay. Medical car out, marshals shielding view.

Turn 15 once again.

It's Wilairot.

They've shown the crash now. Looks like he got tangled with the bike a little bit but stopped short of the wall which I had feared he hit. Nothing too horrendous looking, hopefully it's relatively minor stuff.

Crazy last laps in Moto3. Cortese has a clear speed advantage down the straight. Every time Rins was in front, Cortese would just blow past him down the straight to turn 8.

Sad that the lesser talentet rider will win the championship this year.

Nah, Vinales is basically out of it now.

Fenati showed his age some on that last lap and looked out of it but then Rins went and outdid him. Lucky boy, good for him though.

lol bitter much?

Superb season by Cortese. He has been fastest at many tracks so far. It's only logical for him to lead the championship, especially since Vinalez is nowhere near as consitent.

Why bitter? Im not a fan of Vinales and it's just bike racing.

But you will see. Cortese will go nowhere compared to some of the other riders in Moto3 at the moment.

Cortese is 22 years old and has been around for years and now he is racing teenagers in their 1. or 2. season in GP racing. I think it is fair to call him the lesser talented. He has been fast and consistent because his bike is very fast. The helicopter shot clearly showed the advantage. Even when Rins got a better ride out of turn 6 and 7, Cortese just blew past him. Khairuddin also has very good speed down the straights.

Did I say other wise? I know that it was much worse in 125s, where only a few teams had the bike to be competitive.

It just so happened that Cortese was in the same Ajo team in his 2. year and 6. year total in 125s as a younger Marc. Marc won the championship dominantly, while Cortese was no where.

Yes, he is a great rider, you dont lead a GP championship other wise but again, I think it's fair to say that he is lesser talented some of his competitors, especially his main one.

No, that's not a fair thing to say. You can say that he's closer to the limit of his potential than Vinales but you're dead wrong to suggest that he's not winning based on superior talent.

Edit: Picking Nakagami for a podium today.

But you have said yourself that Marquez is more talented than Cortese, dont you remember?

And yes, he is winning because he is performing closer to his limit than Vinales, who has a higher limit = more talent.
