Wrong.
At Misano the fastest CRT race lap was around 2 seconds faster than the fastest Moto 2
At Bruno the CRT was faster by over 4 seconds
At indy the gap was 2.5 seconds

And dont forget that the Moto 2's are lapping faster than the 500's ever managed......

Didn't see the ;) then.
I know the top, firebreathing machines are quicker, but the chuggers at the back aren't too far away.

If picking it up and accelerating are bad for CRTs, they'll all be lapped at Motegi.

Moto2s are faster than the 500? Wow.

What is it with riders being scared of unsafe spec ECUs? Magnetti Marelli won't forget how to make a ECU from one day to the next.

Maverick Vinales will stay in Moto3 next year.

Also - rumours of a "bombshell" announcement in the next couple of days...

WCM return to Moto GP next season with a ROC-Ducati. Team boss Peter Clifford explains:"We've spent pretty much our whole budget on the engine so luckily we have a 1996 and a 1994 ROC chassis in the attic. The chassis might be almost 20 years old but they couldn't be worse than Ducati's own frames & we've re-hired Gary McCoy so I doubt that handling will really come into it anyway".

You heard it here 1st folks.......

My bet : Honda retiring from MotoGP, going to a full factory WSBK effort with its road-legal RCV :smoking:

Also, Sam Lowes is a near certainty to ride for Paul Bird in MotoGP next year. Shane Byrne is odds on to be the other rider.

Is Shane Byrne going to change his name to Michael Schumacher ?

If they've any sense they'll sign up Scott Redding, if he's available.

According to MCN he has no interest in a CRT ride

Looks more like Honda's version of a Desmo RR that they'll make enough of for homologation than a CBR replacement/rival. I hope they're making it affordable, otherwise they're doing exactly what everyone accused Aprilia and Beemer of.

That link reminds me that I haven't watched On Any Sunday in a while. I'll do that now.

What was Beemer accused of? Are you talking about the S1000RR?

Maybe, maybe not, personally I can't say that I blame him.

Anyway, he's a Brit, I think we all know where he'll end up!!

Casey Stoner is already sick of sitting at home watching races and has decided not to retire. :smoking:

Great quali from Rea (only 1 second back) and Espagaro (only 1.5 back and he lost .7 of that in the final sector - back straight and final corner)

Hmmm... t'is as awful lot of bike, though, especially when it first came out. I'd pay the $2000 or so premium if I could afford it. Thankfully, you can't see the bike when you ride it....

Moto3 can race like this on any circuit, but hopefully the premier class will be more entertaining than usual later on. The lack of dry running so far this weekend may spice things up a bit.

Great Moto2 race. Redding robbed us of a Iannone - Marquez battle til the end. But I guess it's his right, and the move was nice and brave as well :)

Fantastic.

Would love to see Pol and Scott in MotoGP next year, fantastic rides by all the top runners and Bradley went really well too  .

Always loved Ianone, he just makes me chuckle. Slow on the straights? No problem, just be mental on the corners.

I just hope he is the next Casey on that junior Duc.

Rossi was lucky to avoid crashing with Rea as well.
