Damn, sure missed Stoner. Pedrosa just made the pass and ran away too easily.
Moto2 was much more exciting.

Unless Stoner returns and HRC gets all 1-2s with Pedrosa winning, Lorenzo has it nicely in controle.

I really can't see Casey pulling over and waving Dani past to help his championship bid.
Especially not at P.I.

He's just been released from the hospital and will be there at Motegi. I don't know if he's injured or not.

What is it with Hayden and the spectacular crashes? Le Mans '07, Qatar and Germany qualifying '09, Indy this year and now this. Frankly, the fact he still gets on a bike (a Ducati prototype at that) to race every fortnight is astounding.

Any of you Brits know how the Motostar class is divided? A California kid finished 6th on the road but 3rd in his class. BSB web site doesn't explain the difference. I know Moto3 bikes are legal now, is that the difference?

Johann Zarco had signed a deal with Marc VDS but has reneged on it after his manager saw someone on TV that he doesn't like.
Bautista will race for Gresini again next year.
Hiroshi Aoyama could well end up on a CRT bike.

JLo 14 races, 6 wins, 7 second places, 1 retirement. He's matching Valentino's 2002, by finishing first or second.

---------------------------------

Was wiking, just found out that Emilio Alzamora holds the distinction of being the only rider to win a Grand Prix motorcycle world championship without having won a race. He was the 1999 125cc champion. That must feel a bit strange.

I guess it's bad news for WS, but for me personally WSBK isn't all that important. On the other hand, Ezpeleta would deal with Honda on both sides of the table if Honda threatens to leave MotoGP for WSBK.

Wow, that would be Honda's quit-MotoGP-over-electronics threat truly blown up.

Put a national-spec Moto3 class on the WSBK programme and try to find a way to package WSBK broadcast rights with MotoGP, like Dorna do in Spain with the CEV series. That would be a good starting point.

I hope that the rumour about Ezpeleta running both MotoGP and WSBK isn't true that would lead to the end of good motorcycle racing as we know it.

He would destroy the WSBK which is the one series where there is actual excitement and some good fights at the front as well.

Why? If Ezpaleta has a vested interest, it's towards his company's bottom line (and arguably also the health of Spanish bike racing). Destroying World Superbike wouldn't help either of those goals. In fact, building it up and trying to push its media coverage would probably serve his ultimate goal better, which is to limit the influence of MSMA R&D departments on "his" show. It was a rules dispute between the Flammini brothers and the MSMA that led to the previous "fall" of World Superbikes in the early 2000s.

I don't see the manufacturers getting on with DMG in America, or with Jonathan Palmer's BSB series. And they're probably not going to put their money where their mouths are and start sinking factory budgets into the Zero Emissions series. So Honda et al look well and truly shafted here.

Probably have some pizzas delivered on the company credit card, I'm starving.

While I can see the bad scenarios in my head I can also see the terrible racing with my eyes, I'm hoping for the best. Maybe he can talk the manufacturers into heading over to WSBK and continuing on in MotoGP simply as engine suppliers. I can dream, right?
