Aspar to stick with Jonas Folger in Moto3 next year - he could well be a threat to Vinales for the championship.

Jonas is showing signs that he's a thinking rider. If he can do a year without the problems he's had for the last couple of seasons, there's no reason why he shouldn't do very well in the Moto3 championship.

Yes, and he'll move up to Moto2 in 2014 whatever happen next year.

I'm off to Magny Cours this evening, rain is expected on Sunday but i'm ready for it (when was the last bike weekend without rain this year ?), hopefully it'll help Syke's title chances. :p

I expected he would move up...oh well. Maybe because it didn't go so well for him this season.

I wonder who the main contenders will be in Moto2 next year. I expect Zarco to be ready to contend.

I'd like Sykes to win it, but it's Biaggi's to lose. If Sykes wins both races then Biaggi would need two 6th places. Realistically, Sykes needs Biaggi to DNF in at least one race. Critically, a single DNF for Sykes would seal it for Biaggi.

But rain might add the extra luck factor Sykes needs for Biaggi to lose, we saw Biaggi doing many silly mistakes at the end of 2010 when he was about to clinch the title. That would make up for being soaked for a whole day :D

Ducati now have a factory team and a jr. team.
Yamaha have a factory team and very solid satellite team.
Honda on the other hand have a factory team, and then two separate teams with each their satellite bike and then some random CRT options. Wouldn't Honda be best served by building a solid satellite team to share information and development with?

Yes. I would imagine it would be the best option now that each factory can only produce four bikes. The most bang for the bucks is the best united farmer team you could build.

So the guy who I'm mentioned earlier wrote some minutes ago that he had a chat with a MarcVDS guy, and he told that the suzuki wants Redding very, and there is some chance to run 3 bikes next year. They do that some years ago (Nieto - Neukirchner - Kagayama).

If sykes wins both races yes. It is gonna be interesting with the wet track especially the first few corners with Biaggi being in the midpack....

Wouldnt surprise me if someone hits him. But still he did set a 2nd time in the wet warm-up.

Big thanx and gratulations to Sylvian.

Max still have 14,5 led to Sykes and 18 to MM.

Max can win the title with a fifth, so we are where we was before the R1.

If there will no more rain today, it might be a dry R2...

Melandri and Baz out.
SYkes lead, but Biaggi pass Gugliano for 7th place.

Haslam escape from big crash, but Biaggi pass him. Sykes lead champ by 0,5 point. Wow.

Laverty, what a save.

Damm, Biaggi pass Checa.

This is nerve-wracking. Even the commentators can't ruin it, though they're trying.

The points keep coming up on screen, showing us that Biaggi is ahead by half a point, and they keep telling us that Sykes is ahead by half a point that Laverty will have to let Biaggi past and that that's no way to win.

I wanted Sykes to take it, but Biaggi isnt too bad either.

All it takes is for Lorenzo to take his double and Rossi have another worse year of is life again. Hehehe

And here we go - Max Biaggi is 2012 WSBk champ by 0,5 point. Tommy was soo close. BTW, what a dramatic season final at last race of the season.

One more thing.

I remember a lot of comments in a year ago from here and crash which suggest, Max shoult retire, he is too old, Laverty will beat his ass, etc.

Where are theese guys?

:)

BTW Provec & Sykes do a great job this year, and BMW too. But the althea miss something, Guintoli several times was better than them, and not just in the rain.

Amazing finale it was really getting on my nerves. Max was way too easy in the beginning of the race which made it more difficult for him but he did it. Sykes rode a great race and im pretty sure that his time will come. The new Kawa is a great bike and the combination with Sykes is great.

Now i believe Max still hasnt signed a contract for next year so im hoping he does continue. He still has the speed and the fight to be at the front pack and i would be sad to see him retire, but still is there a better way to retire? :)

But I agree, he still has the speed, but has kids too, and it's a dangerous sport.

He said in the press conference after the race that he is still negociating with Aprilia. He also thanked Francis Bata that was here, for being the only man to believe in him back in 2006. Classy

What a day it was, big crowd, 4 french wins in 5 races, Barrier winning the STK1000 title and the nail bitting finish in WSBK. Its really the best championship you can attend, great racing, nice atmosphere, good crowd (not overcrowded like F1 but still a big event), open paddock ... I had a chat with Cluzel, Lowes, Foret, Baz, Berger, Guarnoni, Barrier, Jack Valentine, Bryan Staring and James Toseland, and also managed to catch Lorenzo during the 5 minutes he spent in the paddock :D The press conference in front of the public is also a great idea. Can't wait for next year !

Is it ok to swear? It is? Good!
Feckin' Virgin Tivo box!!
At 5am this morning I checked that it was set to record Magny Cours, that was ok. Off to work I go. Come back home around 4pm, start to watch the action and there's Tom Sykes et al standing on the podium, thought that it was the end of the previous programme or something, so I go out of the room for a few seconds, come back in and lo and behold Biaggi is being presented with the trophy!!
Jeez-us! Turns out that for some reason only known to box itself, it decided to record from around 3.30pm rather than 9.15am. Great.
Anyone know where I can buy a neuralizer? :well:

Also it was the first time I saw a FIM motorhome in the paddock, surely it had to do with the news of WSBK being controlled by Dorna, lots of people wearing suits and looking very serious in it, including Paolo Flamini. I read Ezpeleta was going to Magny Cours as well but I didn't see him during the whole weekend.

I hope he does recover.
Imagine if Max had somehow not taken it, Lorenzo would have been labelled as a huge "cold foot", which is what we call unlucky charms in Brazil!
