Thats not a surprise. Besides 2008 he has never really been all that great here. Plus it looks to me like he is on the soft tire for some strange reason.

He beat Lorenzo here in 2009 and was not far off in 2010. Lorenzo had a big crash in qualifying in 2009 though.

I'm a big fan of him- was gutted hearing this will be his last season. But time won't stand still *sigh*

Terribly dull... again... ZZZzzz...

There's only so much appreciated watching them ride at the limit before you yearn for some actual proper racing. And by mean racing I don;t mean wait for the perfect traction overtake down the straight shit.

Amazing ride by Stoner i thought after the first two days that Lorenzo was going to walk away with this and Stoner might get a 2nd but that would be hard as well, but he has improved a lot and took a well earned victory he is just amazing around Laguna Seca. But still the gap to Lorenzo is big.

Hayden fought hard and took 6th he got everything out of the duke today. Rossi again a terrible performance, he has been overclassed by Hayden the whole weekend and that should never happen to him. He should at least be able to beat his teammate there is no excuse for that.

Always thought Hayden is a little underrated, and perhaps more people would be willing to reconsider seeing how it's been this year.

37 wins, thats a hell of a lot!

But I still consider Lorenzo and Yamaha favourites. Laguna is a lot like Sachsenring... A more normal tracks things should be more like Mugello, IMO.

So in love with Bradl, only some seconds behind Spies who you should think knows this track.

Not bad for a rookie, more than 20s ahead of Bautista

Yes at least at Ducati he has been underrated, he has done so much work for them and has always been positive in his attitude (not that that means he didn't say what is wrong with the duke just in a good way) and already last year he was basicly equal to Rossi. I was happy to hear that Ducati gave him another year he really deserved it.

Yes Bradl has been very very good this year, very stable and is getting faster every race i bet Lucio is very happy he got Bradl this year instead of the disaster that Elias was last year.

Not every day you hear Lorenzo saying "It was Casey's day not mine, he was the best today".

Yep he truly looked beaten today. As i said i also didn't expect Stoner to win here, especially at the beginning of the weekend Lorenzo and also Pedrosa were looking faster and more consistent but yesterday in qualy Stoner already went a lot better.

Dovizioso just said to italian television that it's unlikely for him to move to Yamaha factory team because "Rossi seems very close to it".

SO he goes to Ducati or wsbk? I think there is a quote of him saying he thinks Ducati is a career killer last year when he was in contract talks to ride the 3rd repsol bike

Love seeing the bikes go around this track. Some fascinating moments. The race on the other hand was quite average, could have guessed the podium beforehand. I hope the championship will heat up in the second part of the season.

They asked him about Ducati and Honda Gresini and he said that he will consider both options.

Brilliant ride by Stoner. Only him and Hayden pulled off serious overtakes today and Stoner did it against the two guys who finished 2nd and 3rd. Amazing to watch.

Also, did you see them spraying champaign on the podium? Stoner and Lorenzo seem to get along very well. You'd expect the 2 best riders to be sort of hostile towards each other. But these two guys are coming across like cousins or brothers or something like that. They always fight hard against each other, but never do anything dangerous to the other. And off track they always are extremely friendly and respectful towards each other. Remarkable... I think Lorenzo will miss Stoner almost as much as Stoner's fans will miss him.

They respect each other immensely. At the start of the season, J-Lo's response to some question (that escapes me) was that Stoner would be fast on a bicycle. I think it's genuine.

And kudos to maligned BBC commentator Charlie Cox for spotting that at the first replay.

However, the luck Spies has had this season has been unbelievable. I'd say Mat Mladin's probably laughing away in his mansion in Australia, but really he probably doesn't give a shit.

The US superbikes seem to be putting in similar times to the CRT bikes at Laguna. Local knowledge of course but even so.

One thing that is hurting the CRT's is that they have to conserve engine life. I don't know how it is in AMA but I'm guessing it's like in WSBK where the engines make quite a bit extra hp compared to their CRT brothers.

Great ride from Stoner and tough on Spies.

LS is a great circuit, bit it needs Moto 2&3 to improve the spectacle for the TV audience at least. Having said that, it's a shame that WSB no longer race there.
And how come nobody ever tries the Ben Bostrom line at the corkscrew?

Good point, Moto2 and 3 would be excellent you would have to think.

The race was impressive rather than enjoyable. Thought Jorge was going to just walk it

Mladin is probably stilled puzzled, that the guy who beat him is getting beaten so convincingly by the top guys in MotoGP. Afterall they are just midgets as he said.

According to spanish magazine Solo Moto, Ducati met with Masao Furusawa to ask for his help. Furusawa was Yamaha's boss during the Rossi years, and father of the M1.

edit : too slow ^^

He was the dominant rider in the AMA at a time when it was probably more talented and competitive than any other Superbike series in the world.

Another shameful performance from Rossi. I really hope Yamaha don't hire him back. He does not deserve it.

I was really surprised by how much room Lorenzo gave Stoner for the pass. He didn't even try to hold him back.

Also another good showing from Bradl - he is only 22 points behind Crutchlow in the championship!

Getting a tad frustrated with CC now. He seems to have hit some sort of wall since his Silverstone heroics and on top of that, he could be joining that team. Come on Cal, get that first podium before it's to ruddy bloody late, sh!t or bust!

As far as George letting Casey pass so easily, perhaps he was planning to sit behind the Honda for a while to see what Stoner had. And then realised it was his 455 on a plate!?
