I'll comment how i seem fit, it seems like its ok to criticise other riders, some of which ive defended, but not Rossi. Why is it that Rossi feels the need to pass comment on the lack of respect he's had from other riders these past few years, there seems to be a dislike in the paddock as well.

LOL

Fantastic for Baz.

Too bad that due to the Olympics I had to watch a stream of British Eurosport 2... the commentary sounded like a porno for the entire second half of the race and then after the finish Rea's "fantastic presence of mind" during his crash is all they can talk about? Give me a break.

They are a thousand times worse than the French I usually watch here in Belgium. I'm sure those guys would have rightfully paid a little more attention to Baz today. :)

In EurosportPlayer is option to watch WSBk with commentary of J. Green. It's better than Witham and Burnicle.

I can't waiting to 2nd race... and WSS.

Back in the adult world - what a race!

WSBk in this years produce THE BEST racing on planet, period.

Don't know if it showed on tv but nearly a massive crash as a rider pulled a wbeelie after the flag and almost hit the downed bikes. Madshalls had to run onto track to try and slow the riders down. Need yellow flags on the pit wall really.

Yep unfortunately it just shows how boring MotoGp is

Bit of controvesy with Melandri and Biaggi not having tyres on their bikes before the 3 minute warning

I think there was more overtaking and lead changes in that single race than in a whole MotoGP season. :drunk:

Clive Lomax ‏@clivelomax
@motomatters Aprilia might be protesting BMW for not having wheels fitted at 3 min warning.

Michael Guy ‏@michaelguyMCN
Ironically I think that Aprilia did the same, but as Biaggi scored no points it does not matter if they are penalised too!!

Michael Guy ‏@michaelguyMCN
Hearing there could be a few more riders under investigation for working on their bikes after the 3min board. No word on penalties....yet!

My guess :
If its wet : Guintoli - Sykes - Haslam
If its dry : Melandri - Sykes - Checa

Hehe, you can throw that out of the window.

If Guinters win this race before SMRZ, that will be middle fingers to Effenbert Liberty.
But Baz going faster, only 4s (from 10s 3 laps ago) gap to Guintoli.

EDIT: No, Davide Gugliano out. Baz is his own level, wow.
EDIT2: Badovini, Rea and SMRZ out.

I'm not expecting Guigliano to stay on his bike for very long. :p

WSBK needs online race transmission like MotoGP.

So...why did it go back two laps and not one? If the rules are that it goes back to the last completed lap by all riders still circulating - the race lasted 24min 16 seconds with Johnny Rea crossing the line last and a time of 23min 25 seconds to complete lap 9 - why did it go back to lap 8? Those are the times on the results on the official WSBK website, so I'm guessing they are correct.

I think the rules have always been to take the results 2 laps before the red flag. That's how Marquez lost the race at Jerez this year for example.

Might be i always thought 1 lap before the red flag but i guess 2 laps it is. :)

This Loris Baz is some rider. The signs were there when he made his cameo in the BSB, and he has delivered.

Apparently they went with the order at the beginning of the final completed lap. Having never read the rules I can't tell you what they say on the subject of course, but that is the argument I read. Laverty doesn't seem convinced though. :)

Which can't be right as lap 9 was fully completed and Smrz fell on lap 8.

Someone must still have been on lap 8 when they went to red flag or something. Otherwise, it would be very strange for them to get it so blatantly wrong.

EDIT: was Rea really in last position of the riders still on track? Do you have a link to the times or a brief description of where on the site you are seeing them? All the data I can see have been cut off at lap 8.

Which is what i thought but if you check the times on the official website. Rea was last across the line, but before the flag went out. Unless i'm reading it wrong.

Edit. On a phone right now, but go to the main WSBK homepage and click the .pdf icon next to the superbike results. When it loads you've got full lap times and a list of what happened chronologically. Also has entry list, qualifying etc.

You were right regarding Rea, but they do list Smrž as having completed lap 8. So standings after lap 8 (at the beginning of lap 9) would still have him in third. Right, or did I get mixed up somewhere?

Well he came out of nowhere to me until he jumped onto a Motorpoint Yamaha towards at the Croft meeting in 2010 and was immediately a regular points scorer. He left at some point in '11 and hadn't really followed what he was doing until he got the Kawasaki call.
